I have an 02 Chevy 2500HD that recently started giving me trouble. It only has 117,000 miles. I have replaced two injectors, cleaned the fuel rail, replaced the fuel pump and it still will not crank without ether. When you stop spraying ether, it shuts off. I have spent 3000.00 on this truck and I still cannot drive it. I am trying to find out just how many pumps are on it and exactly where they are at. Each person that has worked on it has told me something different. I wish I could find someone that actually KNOWS what they are talking about.
You need to hook up a fuel pressure gauge and check pressure. they cost40 bucks at oreillys/autozone and they can tell you what your pressure should be. You have 1 pump per fuel tank and they are in the tank. Do you hear the pump come on when you turn on the key? it might be a fuse. Could be the fuel pressure regulator pull the vac hose off of it if there is fuel in the vac line it is bad. Also GM has a problem with theft passlock shutting off the fuel. Are you using a key that came with the truck, walmart made or others will not allow fuel. If you have a good key try this it is free Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys. This relearns your key and allows fuel to come on. Please comment back I am curious as to what you find
