You may not need the entire strut, just the part that serves as a shock absorber. The term strut refers to a complete assemby with coil spring and a central shock absorber.
When their seals fail completely, whether gas or fluid filled,they are just a piston in a cylinder with nothing to damp their travel so they can slam at both ends.
American made 'shocks' were once only really effective for ~20k miles but both foreign and domestic have improved a great deal but one of yours may have left the factory less than perfect.
Shop the parts before you let the car go to anyone to see if they are scalping you or only marking their cost up a little.

You can turn off the Check Engine light by either disconnecting the battery or by using a code reader to clear the codes. However, if the problem still exists it will come right back on. Instead you should get the code read, find out what the problem is, and fix it. Your local autozone or checker auto parts store will read them for free.

Wow..thats not good..first have motor mounts checked, maybe the tranny mount or possibly if ur car has it is the driveshaft bearings...good luck on the oil leak...maybe tranny fluid..make sure if ur losing fluid that ur checking them incl. the tranny fluid...u might find ur leak first of all by rechecking the oil cap where it is supposed to be ...same with all fluid caps.

ya no prb u can do that for the front wheels...but careful that u better check the bearings of rear wheels also...so that it will be safe drive for u!!!!

As to how hard it is to replace that depends. If you can remove the oil pan without removing any other parts then it is a simple repair. But if you must remove other parts in order to remove the pan it can be more difficult. Crawl under the car and see what must be removed in order to get the pan off. If you can buy a new oil pan for $95 then by all means buy it and replace it yourself or hire a trusted mechanic to do it for you. I can assure you it will not cost $300. At least find out what it will cost if done by someone other than the dealer. Honda's are reliable cars but their oil pan drain plugs are not. The problem is Honda uses an aluminum drain plug washer and this requires you to torque it to 29 ft/lbs in order for it to seal properly. Over time this will cause the pan threads, which are weak, to distort and eventually end up stripping out. The solution when you install your new oil pan is to not use an aluminum washer and instead use a fiber washer. If you pay someone else to change your oil, be sure and tell them to leave the fiber washer in place and not to install an aluminum washer. You then torque it to 15 ft/lbs and never have a leak or stripped threads. Another alternative is to just replace the drain plug with an inexpensive rubber drain plug you can purchase at any auto parts store. It will seal the drain and you just throw it away and install a new one at every oil change.
