My 2007 Lincoln Town car traction control dpesn't work. On icy roads the traction control light on the dash lights up but both wheels continue to spin and when I push on the accelerator the car...

Ice is a big problem. There is very little traction to be had and managed. It is likely that the system is working, but in icy conditions you simply need to be VERY gentle on the gas pedal. The heavier the car the bigger the problem. Traction control systems will work well in wet or even in snowy conditions, but if you are gunning the engine on ice, nothing will help. You will be out of control.

2006 cadillac abs and traction control light on and grinding when my tires spin

You can thank the Federal Govt for the Trac Control that is
imbeded into the ABS Braking System

I have that on my 2004 Lincoln LS & sorry I ordered it

On snow it cuts off injectors & slams on rear brakes

Total Waste & useless technology from my 1960's
perspective. I live in the US but grew up in Canada
so I have lots of experience in snow, more in NJ than Ont

I have yet to figure a way to disconnect it using the wiring

AWD Disable light on 2001 Pontiac Aztec- how do I get if off?

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module

Rear brakes locking up when wet. Now abs light and service light and traction control light all coming on abs cutting in quite often even when it's not wet or slippery

Sounds like possibly your emergency brake cable got stuck at one point in time, its probably wearing your brakes down horribly. Also your rear brake calipers may have gone bad and are partially stuck closed.

Exclamation point in circle light on

Hi, Sounds like your abs braking system is at fault. The light would normally flicker when traction (tyres loosing grip with the road) is lost, Then as regained the light should go back out, however you have a sensor on each wheel either one of those may have packed in or your main ABS control unit under the bonnet may be at fault or on the way out. Also it may be your traction control switch that could be at fault. Hope this helps.

2001 jaguar s type. Traction controll fault light came on. 5 minutes later brake light comes on and at the same time abs light comes on. What could my problem be?

your traction control mechanism uses the abs breaks to slow the spinning and give you better traction. i'm thinking your traction control sensor has gone bad

Traction control

Traction Control system adjusts your throttle and braking automatically to help keep your car from slipping on wet/snowy roads. If the light flashes momentarily then that means it is doing the job properly. If the light flashes constantly or stays on then it indicates a problem with the traction control or ABS system and could pose a safety concern.

2001 olds ABS and traction control sensor issue

An ABS sensor DOES affect the traction control system. Traction control uses these sensors to determine if a wheel is losing traction. A bad sensor will cause both the ABS and TRACTION lights to come on.
The CHECK ENGINE light however is going to be a seperate problem.
