The part-time 4wheel drive light is always on even if its not in 4wheel.
You have a bad or faulty sensor that communicates the 4wd position to the dash the sensor is on the top front of the transfer case. Find a large open area and drive in reverse for about 500 feet then put car in drive and pull forward this might enable the sensor to know what position the transfer case is in The transfer case is connected to the transmission and also to the front and rear axles by means of drive shafts. If this doesn't work change you sensor on the top front of your transfer case. hope this helps you please rate me and for further assistance you can always ask me.
