Warning lights I just put a new engine in 2003 alero in August, I get oil changes regularly, now I've got service vehicle soon, trac off, ani-lock, and oil change warning lights on... I just got oil changed 2 weeks ago... what the heck to do? I need to drive a 210 mile trip tomorrow... what to do?

First you'll need to take it someplace to get the computer checked for trouble codes. The codes will tell you or a mechanic what to test.
If the check engine light comes on, it will also turn on the other warning lights even if there is no problem with trac or ABS.

I just put in new fron pads in my 2000 buick century and the track off and the anti lock brake light and the service engine soon stays on

the anti-lock and traction lights will come on together if there is a common problem with the two, since they are closely related. may be a wheel speed sensor or something similar. the service engine soon light indicates a problem with the engine computer, can be anything from an emission system problem or an engine performance problem. all of these lights can come on with no apparent running problems on the car. the service vehicle soon light is basically a maintenance reminder, an oil change light. take the car into a shop and have the codes read for these lights.

More than likely one or more of your wheel speed sensors is not reporting properly. This is fairly common. If you have the ABS codes scanned it will tell you which ones to look at first. I would check/clean the electrical connectors to the wheel speed sensors as these often are the problem.

You need a new wheel bearing, This also happened to my olds alero, make sure 2 jack up each tire 1 at a time and pull back and forth on them checking for play, once you have found the 1 that has play or wobbles that is the 1 that needs a new wheel bearing

If you have 02 sensor that are bad, you need to take it to a mechanic. Sometimes there is a bigger problem than what the autozone people can tell you. To run a full diagnostic at a mechanic depending on where you live can be 80-100 dollars. The shop will be able to tell you in more depth what is wrong. Sometimes mechanic will charge more to check under the hood as well, but if you fix it now, it wont cost hundreds in repairs down the road, or even a new car if you let it go. It happend on my old car and that is why I have the alero.

This depends on which light you are reffering to. There is a sercive engine soon light, and a service vehicle soon light, as well as other warnig lights.

Anti-Lock and Trac Off lights are lit on my 1999 Alero, as well. They usually come on after about 5 minutes of driving, but are not always on when I start the car.

you have a problem known to many alero and pontiac grand am cars you have a bad wheel bearing,this is a common problem with these cars and they will not do a recall on this.you need to have your front wheel bearing hubassemblies replaced its not a bad job can be done by a decent backyard mechanic but a lot cheaper then going to the dealer, just save your reciepts in case they do recall your car for this problem they will reimburse you for your cost. If you have service engine light on, trac. off light and the ABS light on the same time, you may be able to get it fixed my reprogramming the power control module (with updated software calibration).

ok there is a difference between the check engine light and service vehicle soon light. The service vehicle soon light comes on when a bulb is out on the daytime running lights. Check your bulbs if there is one out and you put a new one in it will most likely take car of problem.
