My 2008 chevy impala has intermittent speakers on 3 or the 4 main speakers. both front and right rear stop working and then start again. also the chimes for keys in the ignition also are intermittent. When the speakers work--so do the chimes. what might the problem be and how do I check for the problem

Well its most likely a bad connection at the ignition switch a lose or corroded blade or female connector not a main power wire .Or a connection at the radio it self .
Problems like this ie .electrical problems seam hard to understand at first . But what you need to do is look at the problem 3 speakers intermittent yet they work sometimes the chime for the key same .
I would pull the radio fuse out of the fuse box first if the chime problem goes away the problem is likely a connection on the back of the radio or corresponding wiring connections .If not then you need to look at the ignition and door switch door open door closed .
In short don't ripe things apart its much cheaper and easier to test then form a plain . You may need to buy a cheap tester or meter have fun with it.

SOURCE: rear speakers stopped working

my speakers went out front and rear i was told by an audio tech. that the systems that chevrolet put in them each speaker has its own amp to bust the sound the only way to fix it is to replace them.
if you have a warranty chevrolet will replace them otherwise find a junk yard or new system. i ordered a set of used speakers off ebay havent installed yet.

SOURCE: 2001 Chevy Impala won't start

If the battery has gone dead, it could cause the security system to go into full lock-up mode. If it has locked up the accessories will work after the battery is charged back up , but the power to the starter will be cut off and it wont turn over. You need to do the 30 minute learn procedure. A GM dealer will print it out for you and you can do it yourself. It's very simple if you follow the procedure exact. hope this helps and good luck.

SOURCE: Front two speakers just stopped working.

I have an 05 Cobalt that just experienced the same problem. I had my door panels off and my speakers appear to be dead.

If you have a multimeter, you can pull the speaker out and test to see if you get resistance across the two terminals. It should say on the speaker what the resistance should be (most likely 4 ohms). If you get no reading, you most likely will have to replace the speaker.

You could also test for AC voltage on the speaker wires. When the stereo is on, and set to a reasonably loud value, you should get a few volts. If you don't get any reading at the door, it may be either the wiring or the stereo. To determine which it is, you will have to take readings at the stereo output.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Key remote stopped working

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, CHANGED OUT BATTERIES IN MY REMOTES AND HAD THEM TESTED AND THEY WORKED FINE. THEY DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS NOT UNDER WARANTY AND IT WOULD COST $600 TO FIX IT. YOU CAN ONLY REPLACE IT THRU A CHEVY DEALERSHIP. KIND OF A SCAM!

Have a 2008 chevy impala 3.9L v6. The car intermittently will have issues starting. Car will turn over sometimes is acts like the battery is almost dead then you try again and it starts.

Have the battery load tested, it may have a cell that is failing. Autozone and Sams club and Oriley auto parts do this testing for free.

Chevy impala 2008 rear windows won't roll down all

Most cars these days have this designed into the window system. Its a safety issue and I'm afraid there may nothing you can do. If there is more window track below the bottom of the glass, look for stops bolted or rivited in the track. If so, you may be able to move them down. However, this is dependent upon the drive mechanism, which may also limit window travel.
