This answer is for the 3.8L 6cyl engine.
The Fuel Filter is located:
Under vehicle, driver side, below seating area, front of fuel tank, mounted on frame rail in fuel line
Follow the fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine. You will find the fuel filter unless it is located in the fuel tank and is non-serviceable as I suspect you will find.
Try locating the fuel filter looking at the undercarriage, look beneth the seating area on both sides, you should be able to locate it. The other option will be to locate the fuel tank and trace the fuel lines forward until you find the filter
The filter is located at the rear seat, you have to remove it first, then you will see a cap attach with some screws. Inside that cap you`ll find the fuel filter. Before you change the fuel filter you have to release the fuel pressure first. To do that, first find the FUEL PUMP RELAY in the main fuse box located in the engine. Once you located open the fuel door and take off the cap and leave it open. Start the engine, take off the FUEL PUMP RELAY and leave the engine stop itself, when this occurs turn off the key, the you can take off the filter and changed it
The fuel filter is located under the rear seat in a compartment above the fuel tank. Also, a filter sock at the base of the fuel pump located in the fuel tank.
On 2001 models the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump. To replace the fuel filter, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the back seat and take fuel pump cover off to get to the fuel pump. Then you have to 1) disconnect the electrical connector from fuel pump/fuel sending unit, 2) disconnect the high pressure hose and the fuel return hose from the fuel pump and 3) remove the fuel pump mounting flange screws. You can then lift the fuel pump and replace the filter. Good luck and hope this helps
