1992 Lincoln Continental engine/gasket problem

What colour oil is it, if it's white or red then it sounds like the tranny oil is leaking, but only if it is a automatic, if a manual then it has migration of oil into a water jacket and will need to be fixed, by replacing the head gasket

Should change every 3,000 miles if your using standard oil. Can go 5,000 miles with synthetic oil. Consider using an oil designed for high mileage cars .

top mount when go's bad eventualy can mess up other thing's, As for the tran's i would change the fluid and the gasket and filter. They are all right there togather, should cost around $75

Any engine, when cold, takes at least 3 miles before reaching operating temperature.. After reaching operating temp it still takes a mile or 8(depending on your vehicle) before "over" temperatures are reached. Therefore if needed, a vehicle can be driven several miles without any coolant/water at all before overheating and causing damage, if started from from cold.

There are probably varnish deposits in your carb. Go to the auto parts place and see whaat the guy at the counter recommends.

it could be bad tires,bad wheel bearing,or the power steering pump? Not enough INFO to answer completely

My 1998 Continental started missing. Problem was very slightly leaking valve cover gasket that allowed a little oil to drip on plug/plug wires. The oil would 'burn off' and not be evident on the driveway. It left carbon tracks that would short out and keep a plug from sparking.the cylindars.

disconnect the battery to clear the KAM and all fault codes. 1/2 hour. Then reconnect and drive for 10 miles. It may run rough until it relearns engine controls. please rate as solved if this fixes issue

disconnect the negative ground to your battery for 5 minutes than re attach it. Once you drive the car for 50 to 100 miles the computer will be reset
