beleive it or not it could be a problem tied into either some of the wiring to do with the ignition such as an ignition fuse.another option is for you to remove the fuse paneling and checking to make sure all of the connections are o.k

SOURCE: display wont siow on radio

if the display is blank you will need to send it to a repair facility. your ford dealer should be able to give you an estimate over the phone, or tell you locally where to take it.
the steering wheel controls will not work with an aftermarket radio. besides if you have a 6-disc player, it is probably a fairly nice audio unit.
i would at least see how much to fix it.

SOURCE: radio display doesnt light up

I had the same problem too. Eventually ended up at www.shareamemory.com. You can either purchase instructions on how to repair it yourself or purchase a reconditioned board. I attempted to fix it myself and realized that I can't solder. So I purchased a board and have a had a brightly lit display for at least two years. I hope this works for you

How do you replace a Body Control Module on 1999 ford expediton

Ford calls this the "GEM" It is to the left of the brake pedal arm under the dash. It is just a matter of a few fastners to remove.

Why can I no longer see my mileage or electronic displays? The dash still lights up and so does the radio.

You could have damaged display. Maybe the connection. If your dash lights up I would not suspect a relay. Not a bulb either. Most likely a bad display. Try this if you can disconnect display and wait for a short time and reconnect. This may or may not work.

99 ford expedition radio problem

This is not a fuse problem, it is a burnt out display backlight bulb, you have to pull the radio out of the dash and remove the top cover of the radio, you will see a tiny bulb socket, twist it out, replace that little bulb.
