Where do I begin. First. I brought the truck from Texas to Chicago so I know the winter has really taken a toll on it.
(C1500 V6 4.3L 2WD)
My blower for A/C or Heat will only blow on High. I can hear it click but nothing happens until it get's to the High setting.
The pully connected to my A/C refridgerant is making a weird noise like slighty grinding, so I'm assuming I might need to replace that due to bad bearings?
Truck makes a weird whining noise when I accelerate, not sure if thats just because it a V6? Alternator is good, and power steering is good. Could that just be part of the bad pully I mentioned above?
It seems like one thing after another. Now my front brakes are sqweeking a little so I'm asumming it's time for new brake pads? I recently replace the back brake cylinders on both sides so that can't be it.
Your blower motor could have a bad switchc or speed relay.
Your AC compressor, you can just replace the bearing to the clutch to save you some money.
The whining noise could be your front pump to your transmission. Check your transmission fluid and see if it's burnt. A cloged Transmission filter would do the same thing and lack of fuild. If you are going to have the fluid and filter changed have the servors upgraded to corvette servos. The part is under $45.00 and help's your transmission. http://s-series.org/component/option,com_tech_article/Itemid,/item,6/task,item/
Good luck and you may be right about the front brakes.

Is the whining noise coming from the engine compartment where the compressor is located or is the noise coming from inside the car? If the noise if coming from inside the car it could be your blower. When a blower wears down the bushing is the first thing to wear down and it begins to have play. That makes the blower/fan vibrate making a loud whining noise. Replacing the blower could solve that whining noise.
If the noise if coming from the AC compressor, it also could be a bad bearing within the compressor.
A little bad news is in order! Your problem is mostly the channels the window is riding in. When vehicles get over 10 years old, the rubber deteriorates all over the place .For example, the inside and outside rubber window wipers of the door glasses begin to get hard and crack. As the various parts that move the glass also begin to wear, the electric motor gets weaker, and the window regulator begins to wear also. There are a few fixes. Cheapest is to lubricate the window channel. I use silicone spray, depending on the outside air temperature what you should use. The colder it gets where you live, the less options you will find in the winter. A new window motor and/or regulator might help. The rubber & felt channels are available, but are really hard to install. You have to tear the door all apart to do so. J.C. Whitney out of Chicago sells the channels, I don't know if they'll fit or not. If you do all this, and everything turns out like a new car, you may well qualify to work in a body shop!
It would depend on where the noise is coming from. Could be a belt, the compressor, or the blower motor. The blower would be noisy in both ac and heat mode.
yes sounds like heater motor bearing is going out should fix before wintewr hits it lock up in the winter then it will cost more. iif you live in chicago send me email
I suspect it is the blower fan and the ductwork for the air intake to the blower picks up the air in front of the engine compartment.
It would also be a good idea to have your alternator checked and use the A/C heat controls to see how much the blower motor is demanding from the alternator. Autozone and Oreillys will check the alternator on the car for free.
i'm thinking that your tires need speed balancing :),, if is not the tires then one of your bearings on the hub needs replacing or the exhaust has a hole somewhere.
Thank's so much, going to look into all of those!
