Replace all eight with new ones. That will give you a regular spark on all eight and it will run more smoothly. They will run better with the new plug wires.
could you have a restriction in exhaust system-the catalytic converter-otherwise what are your compression numbers for each cylinder-another easy thing to do would be to install a new fuel filter-cheers Denny
please RUN the scanner and computer for diagnostic. can be a sensors faulty. and make the TUNE UP. some cable, spark plug, or EMP defective, or coil. God bless you
Changing the plugs probably had nothing to do with it. White smoke is usually a sign the engine is burning coolant or trans fluid. You might want to check those fluid levels. If the coolant is low, you may have a leaking head gasket or intake gasket.
It sounds like you may have a vacuum leak at the throttle body, inlet manifold or associated hoses. If there is no leak, recheck the spark plugs to ensure you set the correct gap on the new spark plugs.
This could be a problem with plugs, wires, distributors, fuel filter or fuel injectors. Try changing the plugs and wires first, then the fuel filter. If you are changing the plugs and wires, make sue you use anti seizing compound and dielectric grease.
I would check to make sure your spark plug wires are not coming loose from the coil packs on the back of the engine, i had the same problem with a '97 cavalier and then the check engine light started to flash meaning it had a catalyst threatening mis-fire.
also check to make sure you have the correct order, these things will run with the wires mixed up but they are gutless.
a new fuel filter might not hurt either, they are easy to change located near the back axle, one nut and a quick connect fitting.
thanks for the reply but, what's a cat and, how can i unplug it
Catilitact converter is in the exhaust
you will need to take it to a muffler shop to fix it
