The above "Guru has no idea what he is talking about. The yellow oil light means you need a new oil level sensor, if your oil is indeed full. Its located in the oil pan and costs around $100. Oh, and oil changed are around 15,000 miles, not 6000 miles. When the BMW is due for an oil change or inspection, the display says so. The yellow light is low oil. Please avoid giving advice when you don't know what you're talking about.

The yellow lights you see are the service indicator lights which are telling you the car is due for  a service/oil change. These lights can be reset once the service has been done.

The lights are controlled by the ECU which in turn takes into account mileage, speed and the amount /type of driving you do.
Normally oil changes are around every 6000 miles.

Not resigtering it is in park. so no start no crank no click no nothing . loss on communication with the bcm is the dtc. charged battery and still nothing.

Try starting it in neutral. If it starts OK and every time, replace the range sensor/ neutral safety switch, on the transmission.. After that replace the RF wheel bearing/sensor. Have the codes cleared . See if the Communication code goes away.

Oil light is on why?

I assume you have checked your oil level and it is ok. If the yellow oil light comes on a few seconds after start up and then goes off it means the oil level sensor is faulty. It is located on the bottom of the engine attached with 3, 10mm nuts. Remove the support pan first 8 bolts 16mm and drain the oil.

Oil fill light

i am pretty sure the oil light comes on when the key is turned to the ON position, then goes out after it starts (providing oil quantity is not low). if it stays on after it starts, then may be an issue with sending unit.

mention it to the dealer when you take it in and they should be able to further diagnose.

BTW, what service is it going in for is oil service was performed 5000 miles ago?

2002 Lancer OZ Rally...

I had the same problem with my 2003 Lancer OZ. The oil level and pressure were ok. Car was fine with no light when starting. After 10 to 15 mins of driving it would come on when I was stopped. It would go away when I pressed accelerator. Try replacing the Oil Sending Unit. It's about $10 and easy to swap. That was my problem.

I also have a 2004 Audi A4 3.0 Quatro and the low oil sensor comes on periodically. I pull the oil dip stick and put it back and it goes away. Maybe it will work itself out.

Oil light comes on for about 2 sec when I stop then goes off

first thing first check your oil level--it can be couple of things When you stop all the oil travels to the front of the pan away from the low oil sensor. This triggers the light. Check your oil may need a half a quart to a quart of oil.add more oil.
