Try putting a new battery in, maybe go to autozone and hook one of their fully charged "used" batteries in your car, and see if that light still comes on.

So you have unhooked the negative (-) terminal of the battery for 5 minutes and the ML still wont go away? Reset your codes.

Lastly, take the car to a REAL battery shop, most will test battery and alternator for free, then they will tell you, if either of those are triggering your light.

Good luck.

2001 Mitsubishi montero sport, had the air on. then a/C wasn't cold anymore.About 5-10 mins later it cuts off. When I try to start it, it clicks one time and won't start.

check the battery terminals for clean and tight
check for drive belt for the alternator
load test the battery
your description is as if the battery ran below 10 volts where the ac clutch would no longer work and then there is not enough power to run the ecm and ignition
check the alternator for correct output.

Battery light indicator is on?

Oh no..... dont ever try to unhook the battery when the car is running because you can damage alot of elect. componance. But if your light is on then you need to check the connection to ya alter. it may be coroated or just loose. Also make sure your battery cables are clean and tight.

My dodge dakota will not idle and the battery keeps going dead

The problem with a lot of dodges is that the computer will loose the idle memory when battery power is lost, to regain the idle just hold the gas pedal a little to keep engine running for about 2-3 min then release the pedal and it will idle on its own, if the battery goes dead it will loose idle again.

As far as the battery going dead you will need to check a few things, first have the battery tested a bad battery that doesnt hold a charge can test good and still be bad due to it can not hold a charge. the battery is charged and if it tests good try this, unhook one battery terminal over night or for as long as it takes to drain normally. if the battery goes dead unhooked then the battery is your problem.

At the same time the battery is tested have the alternator tested. Make sure its tested good. what i mean is tested at idle with all acc on, like lights heater, rear defoger and etc.

Hope this helps. good day

Alternator problem, battery light came om a year ago,i have tested the output .At that time it was ok 14.2 volts so i have replaced the battery. But this problem is back and on for a year.Charging sometimes...

check the earths on the engine and the shell, usually do this if the earth id not good. regulator is built into the alternator. no others needed. depending on the voltage stated on alternator should be 14v plus minus 2. battery should be 12.06 or 8 if brand new,

93 lincoln towncar, 66k miles, replaced starter (was bad) now after crank-up, approx 10 min driving time, anti-lock light comes on then the a/c read-out goes crazy and then it dies. Then it won't start,...

I'd check those fuses for voltage, when problem is ongoing. Those fuses are hot all the time, use a test lite. Did you check voltage drop on cables and wiring? Battery has a full charge and charging system is working correctly?

My 95 blazer 4x4 4.3 engine has a battery drainage problem when it sits all night,i had the charging system checked and it was ok.I tested all the fuse's with a tester with the key off,and more then half...

you would want to make sure everything is turned off in the truck and doors are shut. Take the positive battery cable off, connect a test light to the positive cable and the other to the battery, if there is a drain, the test light will light. Try pulling 1 fuse at a time til the test light goes out. Also have the battery tested to make sure it holds a charge.

88 Honda Accord battery light go on then goes off

Have the alternator tesed to see if it's good, if both alternator and battery are good check the drive belt and tensioner for loseness and wear, the drive belt drives the alternator, it sounds like your alternator is having problems charging the battery, if both alternator and battery are good try changing the battery cables, good luck.
