I ran into the same problem. All the signals, brake and hazards work but ther tail running lights do not. As I was hooking up my side markers the hot wire hit the ground causing a small spark. I took my meter and traced everything. The trailer 30 amp fuse in my fuse panel under the hood is NOT blown but I have no power to that fuse location itself?? Is there another fuse elsewhere?

Hooked up my trailer plugged in lights blew fuse (20) replaced now no brake lights no turn signals no hazards all other light work Help

Clearly the fuse blew due to a fault with the trailer electrics and if you intend to use your trailer you should fix the fault before you connect it for a second time.

You mentioned nothing about your car - how the towing electrics are wired? For around 20 years the majority of vehicles have used digital or computerised electrics and if the car manufacturer's towing kit hasn't been used it has been best practice to assume the car is multiplex and fit a multi-relay to drive the trailer lights due to the possibility of expensive and/or difficult to find problems.

Brake lights and direction indicators are usually driven by an ignition circuit and the hazards by a battery circuit - that suggests the way forward is obtaining and studying a wiring diagram...

When I hook up my trailer all the break lights, signal lights stop

sounds like the adpater to the hook-up is bad. or your grounds arent completely grounded. thats where i would start before rewiring the trailer.

Need wiring color code for a 2000 saturn SL2 for hooking up a trailer light four pin connector

The trailer wires are left turn, right turn, running lights(the smaller elements on both tail-lights and any side lights) and ground. Energise the corresponding lights and connect the wires accordingly. Find a good ground. A piercing test probe will find the correct wire for you if you can't track it to the bulb.

Hooking up trailer lights

Are you checking your lighting with the trailer hooked up? This is the trailer's ground source. The white wire on both sides of the plug is the ground wire. Grounds are very important, Make sure they good and clean.
