Nissan frontier-what service schedule to follow

There is a small dilema here. The Owner's Manual for your Lincoln says to refer to the Maintenance schedule to find the proper interval for replacing your transmission fluid. Here is where the problem arises: The Maintenance schedule published for your vehicle says to replace the transmission fluid at 30,000 mile intervals for several transmission models. Then it "excepts" the models that are not lsted by transmission model number in the preceeding text - yours is not listed.

Then, when I go to the service manual and search by your vehicle (2000 Lincoln LS) it says to replace the transmission fluid at 30,000 mile intervals without any exceptions.

Here is what I recommend to my customers:

CHECK the fluid every 30,000 miles and REPLACE the fluid and filter every 60,000 miles. I have found that this works for almost every make and model out there. I have several customers with over 300,000 miles on their cars that have never had transmission overhauls.

You need to do the trans fluid and power steering every 30,000 miles on all vehicles. Forget what they say
I used to own a trans shop.
Flush Brake fluid every two years
Coolant every three
Spark Plugs at 60,000 miles
Fuel Filter 30,000 miles.

I would stay far away from the dealer
Go to a local shop

Check the brake calipers for freedom of movement and lubricate if required. • Inspect the exhaust system and shields. • Lubricate the door hinges, check links, hood and sunroof (if equipped). Maintenance Requirements - Group 2 • Rotate the tires. See Tire Inspection and Rotation for the proper rotation pattern and additional information. • Inspect the brake system. Check the brake calipers for freedom of movement and lubricate if required. • Inspect the exhaust system and shields. • Lubricate the door hinges, check links, hood and sunroof (if equipped). • Inspect the engine accessory drive belt and coolant hoses every 12 months or 18,000 miles (30,000 km), whichever occurs first. Maintenance Requirements - Group 3 • Rotate the tires. See Tire Inspection and Rotation for the proper rotation pattern and additional information. • Inspect the brake system. Check the brake calipers for freedom of movement and lubricate if required. • Inspect the exhaust system and shields. • Lubricate the door hinges, check links, hood and sunroof (if equipped). • Replace the engine air cleaner filter every 36 months or 30,000 mile (50,000 km), whichever occurs first. An Emission Control Service . (See footnote) • Inspect the vacuum lines/hoses every 24 months or 30,000 mile (50,000 km), whichever occurs first. An Emission Control Service . (See footnote) • Replace spark plugs. An Emission Control Service.

It should be done, usually around 30,000 miles or 24 months, whitchever comes first. Shop around, $120, I think is a little high.

The best thing you can do is look in you owners manual and look up service interval and look up you vehicle under rough service and follow the guide

The best service you can give your transmission is as follows: Drain and refill the transmission at 30,000 miles. Flush the transmission at 60,000 miles, drain and refill at 90,000, and flush it again at 120,000 miles. That is the same recommendation that I give my customers in our Toyota service department. Following that maintenance schedule, we do not have any transmission failures.

the only listing for 50,000 miles is to change oil and filter and rotate tires, this is assuming you have done the other services at 30,000 miles which has alot more done but this is all to be done at 50,000. hope this helps.

At 100,000 miles u need to replace the spark plugs and check/inspect the rest of the ignition components and repalce as needed, in most cases everything will be fine, change interval for air filter and fuel filter is every 30,000 miles, the transmission (auto only) should have a fluid and filter change at 60,000, also the brakes should be inspected 20,000-30,000 miles depending on how you drive and where u drive (city, hiway etc.).
