Fuel problem for my 95 mustang

I pulled my motor and had slight engine modifications done. I know you cant do much or else you can throw off the computer. My problem starts with my fuel pressure, i checked it and its 32psi and it supposed to be 35-40psi so im off by about 8 psi from the desired. The thing is that it will only read with the car running not with the key forward like its supposed to be. Also when i shut the key off and turn the key forward agian (not starting) the guage jumps and then loses pressure. I know the pump is supplying the volume because it jumps when i rev the car up, but when im driving it the car has trouble starting in the cold and it also falls on its face when i stomp on the gas from a stop. I know the car should have more get up and go than this. Im desperate for advice and any would be helpful.

SOURCE: 96 Probe GT. Fuel pump doesn't run when it should.

Does your car run? Some fuel pumps run quiet so you will need to get your ear close to the gas tank and have someone turn on the ignition. The pumps only run about 3 seconds when the ignition is turn on without starting the engine.

SOURCE: Mustang stalls when trying to drive and will shut down

Measure fuel pressure on injector rail - should be 38 to 40 psi. If low or fluctuating, then replace regulator. Another possibility is the in-tank filter being clogged - rare I know, but trash in the gas tank and it's clogged.

Is an 81 and a98 honda civic motor innerchangable

Part wise for the two engines, no. As for an engine swap, yes a 98 will fit in an 81 and other way around. But this will always include slight modifications to engine and transmission mounts. You will need to take the ECU and fuel system from the 98 . it's not an easy task.

I am doing a motor swap in my 95 jeep grand Cherokee, I am puttin in a 5.2 liter v8 which is what is stock. My question is on my original motor I have one fuel line coming from the rail and on the 94 motor...

to clarify, if i understand correctly your old engine has one fuel line and the replacement has a feed and return line on the fuel rail. if this is the case the usual thing to do would be to use the fuel rail and injectors from the old engine"stock engine pulled from your vehicle" Its not unusal in an engine swap to need to re-use the origianal sensors, harness and fuel system due to design changes from year to year. in your case, the engine going in is a year older than the one being pulled so i would definately use all componets off of the 95 placed on the 94 replacement engine make sure to use the factory harness for the 95 as well. please forgive spelling and grammer long day at the office Good luck let me know if you need any further help!

I recently replaced my 96 mustang 3.8 with a 95 3.8 but now wont start is not getting spark. Do i need ecm out of a 95. It turns over fine but no spark any help...

No but you may need to put the sensers from the other motor on your new one. The most likly reason that it has no spark is youv'e yet to connect somthing. or in your haste to get it done you pinched some wires between the engine and the transmission ( common ) Look it over good and you may happen on the failure and as it's corrected you'l ( get-r-done)

95 mustang gt how to change oil pan gasket

There is no simple way.. I have done it with the motor in and out.. It took less time to pull the motor and change the pan than it did to drop the cross member , undo the engine and trans mounts. I don't recommend doing it with the motor in.

Yes i was wondering can i swap out a 2003 ford mustang cobra motor and put it in a 1993 Lincoln Mark Vlll they both have the same engine 4.6L 32v 4cams just mustang cobra has a supercharger so i was...

can it be done? Yes. is it easy? No. While the basic design of the engine is the same, they are completely different. The cobra in 2003, had different heads, intake and rotating assembly. Also the 03 cobra is an ODBII vehicle while your 93 model is ODBI. i have seen several mark viii's that retained the stock engine, but bolted on the cobra intake. It requires some modifications but is relatively straight forward. hit up some of the mark viii forums, they pictures and in depth discussions on how the swaps are done.

Lack of power

These engines are pretty sensitive to the spark plug gap. Try replacing the plugs and making sure the gap is correct (even if they're pre-gapped. They're typically 0.055", but there should be a sticker under the hood that states the actual gap.

Dead spot on hard excell

If this happens right after you shift it is likely the check valve in the fuel line at the pump. If not occuring after the shift you may be experiencing spark blow out. Try reducing your plug gap to .035 and see if that helps. This is especially important if you have made any modifications that will increase your boost over stock levels.
