I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both
solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect! covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything
got it from www.reliable-store.com

As far as I know, there glass replacements that you can glue right int old unit. You will have to check if they make one for your application though.

Your going to have to remove the inside door panel to get to the three bolts that hold the out side mirror assembly. Once you have the door panel off you'll see the three bolts that hold the mirror assembly, just un-bolt and un-clip the wire harness to the electric/heated mirror. To install the new mirror assembly, just do everything in reveres. Go to Auto Zone and by extra door panel clips, there is a good chance of breaking some of the retainer clips and Auto Zone will have the step by step instructions to replacing the mirror assembly and the removal to the door panel. Good luck and keep me posted. Be glad to help.

Well, technically you dont have to remove the door panel to remove the outside door mirror. At the top of the door panel, at the front of the door, there is a triangle shaped plastic cover. It's held in place with push clips, so pull that cover off and remove the foam insulation and you'll be able to access the 3 nuts that hold the mirror to the door. The only potential problem could be in unplugging the wiring harness. I use a hooked pick to pull up the harness to unplug it.

I apologize if this is insulting but heated mirrors were an option in this model and unless you specified a heated mirror when obtaining the replacement part then you may have a mirror that eventhough the plugs (connections) fit, it doesnt ahve a heating element to warm the mirror itself. Do you on the glass surface of the mirror have a box with waves coming out of top of it or some resemblance of such. This indicates heat and thus the presence of a heated mirror assembly. Otherwise you will need to check your invoice if you purchased from a parts provider. If you obtained from a used parts location (junk yard) you may have gotten a cosmetic similar model that doesnt have all the functionality of your previous mirror.

Most heated mirrors on vehicles are made together. In other words, just replacing the mirror may or may not fix your problem. It would be more economical to purchase the entire assembly and replace it.
