if every thing is correct and working the abs light will go out. i would start at the connection to the abs unit check the plug for water ingest and white res on the connections. clean this off. most problems are connection related.

Most likely you have a defective ABS sensor which is part off the front bearing assembly. you will need have or if you have a code reader capable of reading abs codes find the wheel that is causing the code. Then source the part and if you have the ability to replace it replace it. The code/ light should go out when the abs signal is getting correct information.

could be one of the abs sensors check to make sure wires are not broke and plugged in.

turn the ignition key all the way with out starting and step on the brake three time to reset sounds funny but true

If there is not an issue with the abs than the light would be off the next time you turned on the key. If the light is on there is a problem. Double check your work. If everything is ok than scan the abs module and see what codes are present.

There are several possible issues here. The ABS light will turn on when

• brake fluid level is low
• the pads need replacing (maybe)
• the ABS control fuse / relay system has a problem.
• a wheel sensor is not not connected or broken, or there's dirt/snow on a wheel hub sensor ring.
• the ABS computer is dead.
• the ABS control valve block has a pressure problem.

Your brakes will still function safely, but with no ABS action.

The ABS computer has an error port, like the ECU has. The dealer should have the tool to read any ABS error code.

If you are technically competent, pull the wheels off and check the ABS sensor ring and sensors for dirt and cable connections.

The main reasons why an ABS light is on is from the wheel sensors being dirty or needing to be replaced, each sensor cost approx. $49.00-$149.00 without labor. Cleaning them should cost about $50.00+.
if the wheel sensors test good(there are 4 sensors, one each wheel) the trouble may be in the BCM(Body Control Module) this would be a costly part approx. $400.00 used up to $1,000.00 new.

You are going to need to either replace your abs sensors or your entire wheel bearing and the abs sensor will be included... What the abs sensor does is tell the computer when the wheel is turning or locked, if the abs sensor is bad the computer will not know if the wheel is turning or not, so this will also interact with your traction control.
