TOD Graphic Flashed "Check"

My 1999 Isuzu Trooper has "Torque on Demand" and the computer graphic started flashing "check". I took it to a mechanic who put it on the computer and it didn't indicate that anything was wrong. I checked both differentials for oil and they were both filled. When I depress the 4WD on demand button the lights goes out. The vehicle only has 95,000 miles on it and it's hardly been driven for the two years. Due to the recent price of gas, I've put 1235 miles on it in the last 18 months. Could the lack of use have caused the in-dash computer to go hay-wire?

Check the the 2 vsv near the front axle. They are stuck, just take apart and clean.

How do I fix isuzu 3.1 4jg2 intercooler automatic transmission?reverse is good but when shift to drive it will not change gear?

post #2 by you, on a 99 Diesel.
again posting to USA forum with non usa car, right?>
we dont have that diesel here. nor the matching trans, here.
that means no books, nor listings in Mitchells covering it. zero , nada.
why not be the first if millions to post country your car resides, (best is where bought new country)
our USA car has only the 3.5L 6ve1w engine. gas.
sorry,
now that trans, answering in pure blind generic mode.
1: check all fuses. first.
2: check fluid levels in the box, using correct method, in your book (oper, guide)
3: get the transmission filter changed, and full flush.
4: On usa cars we have OBD2 and can scan the PCM and see all Transmission errors, in your country if not a clue. but it can be scanned, i bet.
EOBD is Europe tool.

next time when posting in GREEN-go land post country first and make it a WIN/WIN=.

I have a 99 isuzu trooper (jackaroo) 3.5 liter 4wd with torque on demand my jssue is the check rear wheel's lights blinks green then red if I put it in 4wd the rear wheel light indicator gose green the...

sounds like a sensor - when did it start - if just cranked up one day and bam it is there - sounds like either a brake wear indicator issue - if they are connected in those - or a fluid level change in the rear end or transfer case - look for leaks and check the brake pads or shoes

Check light on dash panel under the torque on demand diagram and where do i add transmission fluid

I have the same problem with my '98 Trooper - the TOD light, that is. Took it to a good shop for diagnosis. They said the TOD sensor was bad and it would cost abot $480 for the part. We were looking at a hefty bill, so decided to do without TOD for now. Manual 4WD still works fine. They said that Isuzu's arrogance that the transmission wouln't leak leaves us with a tiny 1/4" check port to fill through. We got concerned enough, and had over 180,000 miles, that we took it to a transmission shop and had it flushed and refilled correctly. To be honest, we now have 230,000 miles and don't really see any ATF leaks.
