The pulley on the water pump is separate from the pump on both the 6 and V-8 engines (you didn't specify which engine was in your truck).
If the pulley is wobbling around and grinding, the bearings have failed on the pump. The fact that it has not leaked is not unheard of. REPLACE THE PUMP! Continued operation will cause the impeller (the side of the pump which moves the water) to chew up the housing. Not to mention leaving you stranded.

I have a 2001 olds intrigue 3.5 engine.ive been hearing a grinding noise, found a bearing under my car and i have a loose pully and noticed antifreeze...could this be my waterpump?

yes that is definatly the water pump. if you do not haveva basic set of wrenches and sockets i would take it to a professional, also you may want to get the part for him as most mechanics mark up the part by about 30%

My 2006 ford taurus has a loud grinding noise coming from one of my pulley's. I have the squeakey sound too, that I think is coming from the tensionor pully that is common with ford's. The grinding sound...

The tension pulley on the Ford products is famous for wearing out. If you are positive about where the noise is coming from, then the only real solution is to purchase a new pulley from the dealership. Installation involves removing tension from the serpentine belt, unbolting the old pulley and installing the new one. Put the serpentine belt back in place and you are done. I have tried in the past to lubricate those pulleys both on and off the car - it never worked for any length of time. Seems like once the bearing is worn to the point of making noise there is no saving it. Let me know if this helps you out or not.

When i start the car, it makes a high pitch screeching sound, and it smells like rubber burning

Sounds like your drive belt is slipping, it is either worn out or needs adjusting. You may near it louder when turn your steering wheel.

Grinding noise from passenger side engine

The water pump bearings could be going out and they will make a grinding noise. The water pump doesn't always leak when the bearings are going out.

I have a high pitched noise which appears to be coming from front right engine compartment (as you are looking at the engine) which sounds kind of like a belt that is squealing. It is intermittent. Just...

Could be several things. WHICH ENGINE?.. 4 cylinder (has three belts, power steering/water pump, alternator & A/C compressor, one tensioner pully A/C compressor), The V6 2.7 (has only one belt, 1 Idler pully and 1 tensioner pully), the V6 3.5 has two belts - A/C/alternator, and power steering - there are two tensioner pullys). Noises can be caused by the belt(s) themselves, pullys, bearings, pully bearings, water pump shaft bearings (or belts/pullys rubbing up against something). Let's not forget that there is also belt(s) behind the Timing Belt cover as well as pullys and bearings associated with the timing system. You could start by removing one accy drive belt at a time (alternator, water pump, compressor, power steering, etc) to see whether or not the noise goes away in each case. If after each case, you discover the noise is still there, it's probably behind the timing belt cover (idler/tensioner pully, water pump shaft bearing, crankshaft bearing, etc.). Good Luck

The car is making a grinding/knicking noise it is

pullys have bearings and the bearings will go bad. what you need to figure out is what pully is makeing the noise and replace said pully. another problem you might have is the power steering pump. check the fluid level to make sure it's not low or dry. when a power steering pump goes bad it makes some noise. another possibale problem is if the car has a/c. the a/c compressor has an internal clutch that will make a grinding noise when it goes bad. To test this start the car turn you a/c on or your defrosters on and listen for the noise in the lower front area of the engine compartment (usually the lowest front pully). shut off the car and look for metal shavings on the pully. for this you should take the car to someone to evacuate the system so you don't release refridgerant into the atmosphere (it is also very flamable) and will need to be oiled with 134a oil and recharged after the repair. hope this helps.

Thought it was a tension pully....

how many km or miles on it if over 140 000km then should be needing an alternator the brushes should be down to springs .and the bearing could of been out of the idler pulley back side
