the owner guide in the glove box does tells what the radio CD plays for the OEM radio sold day one. new.
watch out some Radio.or head end CD rigs can get 2 CDs jammed inside. (for sure slot CD type) kids do that most. failing to eject first the ram in a 2nd, causes huge damage.
TRY TURNING OFF CD PLAYER.WAIT 10 MINUTES THEN TURN CD PLAYER BACK ON THEN PRESS THE EJECT BUTTON.SOME TIMES CDS PLAYERS GET HOT WHEN PLAYED FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.MY CDS SEEMS GET STUCK WHEN I PLAY CD PLAYER LONG TIME.SOMETIMES IF CD DONT COME OUT .IF IT STICKING OUT JUST A LITTLE.TRY PUSHING BACK IN CD PLAYER THEN EJECT IT.THIS TRICK WORKS SOME TIMES.
OK I am no expert but I have has this exact same problem......TWICE. I just addressed it again this afternoon by disconnecting the battery. Once reconnected the radio "initialized" and I was able to eject all cd's and use the player again. I can only speculate as to the cause but it could be because at least 3 of the cd's contained MP3's burned from my ITunes library. I will stick to audio cd's and see if it happens again!
Sometimes things just quit working. Not many parts on a car last a lifetime anymore. Chances are your stock radio has gone bad and it would'nt be worth while to have it fixed. Go to a ruputable audio place( best buy, circuit city) have an aftermarket radio/cd player installed, this would be the cheapest fix for your problem.
i had the same problem. the slots inside the cd player that hold the cds slide up and down according to which one you pick. a couple of those got stuck on mine. i took it apart and got the cd out, but wasn't acutally able to fix it. some of the gears got stripped because i waited to long to fix it and it just ground the teeth down trying to get it to work. you can pick up ford radio removal tools at wal mart, or any car audio store to pull your radio out.
Try turning off the radio and disconnecting the battery for 1 min and then reconnecting the battery. Turn on the radio and see if that reset the radio so you can get your CD out and try cleaning the CD player with a cd player cleaner. Note you have to make sure the radio is off before you disconnect the battery. Good luck and hope this helps
It happens to me all the time on my 2002. Try cycling the load and unload buttons for the stuck CD location. If that doesn't work try ejecting the CD. When the slot door opens, try putting another CD into the slot and push on the edge of the stuck CD.
