Something slipping in transmission ford contour 1999

Sometimes once in a week I can be driving along and the engine rpm just goes from 2000 to 3000 rpm by itself and car slows down. Don't know if shifting into neutral and back to drive by it's self or something slipping. Car only has 70000 miles and can't believe transmission is worn out already. Transmission fluid level is OK. Took to Ford dealer and they could't find anything wrong. They said they drove it for week. It has been in 3 times for same problem. Don't want to have the transmission blow up just because of a minor adjustment could have been made!

It depends on the trans but ford had alot of problems with though years with the overdrive shift kit it is a band in the trans and it pop out and break you need to take to local trans shop and let them look at it and tell them the problem and they will take the trans out and crack it up and replace the part that need to be replace before you have to replace the whole trans the ford dealerships dont have the best trans people hate to say that but it true take to someone who specialize in trans only

Define transmission slipping

The RPM of the engine goes up between shifts or more than the road speed when in a gear.
If the engine RPM is increasing but the road speed is not, the transmission may be slipping.

probably the cam sensor, sometimes the sensor can get damaged or the plug gets dislodged when the timing belt is done. .

Speedometer stopped working. Transmission slips when in first/second gear. Tach revs to 3000 rpm. Still drivable but slow. 3.0 engine with air

Limp mode; get it checked.. Fault in the transmission. Even if it stops happening for a drive or two, it WILL return. This isn't a problem that will just come then disappear. Could be internals in the transmission or something like a sensor for the transmission that is faulty.

What will make a 1995 ford contour transmission feels like it went into a lower gear and sometimes the rpms will tac up once it catches you will hear a noise like a belt slips then the car will ****...

It seems like your transmission bands are slipping, it may be time for a transmission overhaul or you coiuld be low on fluid. Check your transmission fluid, if it is a pinkish color it is clean, if it is a dark red or black color and if you smell it it, it smells burnt you may have some damage to your transmission.

Rattling post 2000 rpm in every gear

Sounds like the timing belt tensioner. I have that problem. Rattles at low rpm, goes away as you acceralerate. Looking to have timing belts changed and tensioners replaced.
