I bought a 1988 Jeep Cherokee Limited edition off craigslist with a sunroof. The glass is on the jeep but there is no track so the glass basically sits on the roof and would leak if it rained, and the rainy season is coming up fast. Where could I buy the other pieces to the sunroof (the track, motor, etc.)?

Most larger parts stores carry either chilton or haynes manuals. They are far from perfect and their wiring diagrams are pretty much junk, but overall the do have enough info for most basic and some not so basic repairs. Chilton also offers a download for pay which is better but unless you are doing major complex repair work, likely you won't need it.
The bigest problem with this model jeep sunroof is the cable conduit in the rear of sunroof is broken loose. can be accesed by removing the headliner. But the tracks are accessed from the sunroof opening after removing the glass. the part department at the dealership can give you a breakdown basicly the only replacable parts are the tracks, Price about $200.00 each.
lift rubber edges and apply clear silicon sealant under edges let cure hose with water to test, if leak then seal edges of glass with eurothane sealant, not silicon will rot in sun within year
You will have to remove the sunroof motor, and the sunroof glass. Then you can move the guide tracks seperately until they are in the closed position. Then you can put the glass and motor back in, remove the power source (fuse or disconnect wire harness) to prevent any accidental opening until you can get it fixed. Chances are that a guide track or cable is broken, this can be a costly fix. Do not take it to the dealership, they will only want to install a whole sunroof unit. Take it to a local shop that installs aftermarket sunroofs
Call me I built the Jeep I have all the track's and new window for it
