Mine 96 cobra starts great in warm weather ,let it get 40 or below it will turn over and over, never gets fuel to fire it up,hit it with starting fluid in air flter it fires right up,,what could be the...

There's a shutter valve to restrict air flow either before or after the air filter housing. In cold winter, this valve is closed as you start up the engine. As the engine area warms up, the shutter valve opens up to allow more air to flow into the intake manifold. In close position, the restriction in air flow results in rich fuel mixture. When its open, the fuel mixture is leaner. If it were locked in open position, you crank the cold engine and you get a lean mixture instead of a rich mixture to start up in cold mornings.

My 97 lincoln town car won't start. it's cold out. would taking the battery inside be a good idea to warm it up?

Your battery is usually challenged in cold weather, you are right...to much trouble to remove to take in to warm up...Do you have a battery charger? My suggestion would be to jump start your Lincoln with another car battery...this will assure that your battery is not further damaged by being under charged in cold weather...drive to assure charging system ie alternator is working...taking the battery inside to warm will help to save your battery if it is just low on charge...taking inside will not ncecessarily re-charge your battery...in the summer, sometimes leaving hood up with sun on battery will slightly re-charge a low battery...:)

My truck when I start it on very cold mornings run rough until you let it run for about ten to fifteen mintues. Then when the weather is warm the truck runs fine. It also has under 69,000 miles.

Count your blessings that it starts. It sounds like the cold air is affecting the idle mixture. Check the hose running from the manifold to the air box to see if it is intact. If not, replace/fix it so that you pull warm air in as soon as the engine heats up.
