Have you measured the actual DC voltage on the wires at the genset? If the actual voltage is in the 12.6-13.6dcv range, then the sensor in the genset is bad. If the voltage is indeed high, yu need to find out why.

I believe you are asking about an Onan generator in a motor home? Search for your model number on generator, then go to the Onan website and look for a pdf download of their wiring manual. My dealer would help me with this for free, ask yours. Be prepared for $100/ hr if the dealer works on it.
Is your generator wired in to an automatic switchover in the motorhome, or do you have external plug in on face of generator, or near it. The power from the generator needs to be attached one way or another to the motorhome. It may be as simple as plugging the cord from motorhome into it, depending on what set-up you have.
The wiring diagram for the generator is pretty simple. You have three wires coming out, White/Green/Black. The black is the Hot, White is neutral, and green is ground. If the generator is running and you do not have power at the black wire, the problem is in the generator. Check the circuit breaker on the generator for OK. Make sure that power is passing through it.
