Leaking oil at crankshaft pulley

Here's a guess, I've only done a few.
Removing the pulley to change the seal would probably require removing the engine, because after you remove the bolt holding it on, you need to use a "pulley puller" to get it off.
I think there is an easier way.
I think mechanics drop the oil pan and change the gasket without removing the pulley.
Maybe you could call around and find if this is true.
Pulling the pan might not require removing the engine.
Be blessed.

I have 1995 E420 mercedes 142,000 miles the lifters are clicking. it did sit for 6 months in my drive way (wash DC) what can I do without going to a shop,

You can use a thicker oil. Or convert to synethic which I do suggest. You may also buy some oil additive such as STP or Lucas oil or equivelant. It will thicken your oil.
Otherwise, buy a valve cover gasket, valve guides & springs, and replace the lifters yourself.

Where is the oil pan located on me 1997 lincoln continental?

The simple answer is, bolted to the bottom of the engine. Ford and Lincoln vehicle generally have the cross member right under the engine, so the oil pan is obscured by it. Many oil pans on rear wheel drive Ford products have 2 oil sumps or wells, 1 near the front just behind the belt pulleys, and the other just behind the cross member, this one also has the oil drain plug for oil changes. Not sure why you are looking for the oil pan, so I hope this helps.
