The tcm should be located behind the bumper on the outside of the wheel well behind the plastic cover next to the horn!

SOURCE: 1998 dodge ram 1500 2wd 5.9 eng. how to change

just drop the transmission pan to drain it and the filter is right there in the valve body,DON'T mess the band adjustment, they are only to stop the planetary gears so you can go into reverse, there is no such thing as adjusting bands! that went out with the fifties!

SOURCE: I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.2L automatic.

I had the same trouble with my 1999 4x4 and it ended up being the governor pressure switch inside the tranny. Just drop the pan and its only a couple of bolts and unplug the wires just above the pan so dont bother to take it to a shop if you can change the fluid yourself you can change this with no problem and dont have to pay someone to do it for you. It should only be about 140.00 or so for the part at the dealer.

After heater core replacement now have code p0871,p0760 2008 dodge ram

the code p 0871 refers to transmission fluid pressure (TFP) sensor C --range performance malfunction===causes --wiring--poor connection---TFP sensor ---ECM /TCM
code p 0760 refers to shift solenoid (SS) C circuit malfunction===causes --wiring --shift solenoid --ECM/TCM
now making the assumption that there was nothing wrong with the transmission before working on the heater and the common listed causes is wiring and connections , it would be logical to look for harness connections during the work that were missed in reassembly process

code p 0846 refers to transmission fluid pressure (TFP) sensor B--range/ performance problem ===causes --wiring --poor condition---TFP switch---ECM/TCM
also refers to TFP switch B--range /performance with the same causes

1998. Shuts off when I put in reverse or drive is this a sensor or what.or is trans gone

THe transmission can be left to absolute last as a possible cause
run the fault codes as it could be a wiring problem , TCM or ECM problem

I have a 1998 audi a4. it will not start and gives me the p1749 and p1625 codes. how do i fix this?

code p 1625 refers to CAN databus, TCM--incorrect signal===causes --TCM trouble code/s stored---TCM incorrectly coded---wiring---matching resistor in ECM
I don't have a listing for code p 1749 but codes 1748 and 1750 are concerned with TCM defective and voltage supply low
so after you check the wiring and connections form the transmission you have 2 options
use a known good ECM to replace yours ( will eliminate any ECM faults)
and/or replace the TCM module on the transmission

I have a 1998 jeep grand cherokee larado 4.0 with auto trans. I code a p0711 and a p0713. It goes in and out of overdrive after an hour or so of driving. Some days it doesn't do it at all. I had senso

codes po711 andp0713 refer to transmission fluid temperature (TFT) sensor ---range /performance problem and high input===causes --wiring--TFT sensor ---ECM/TCM and wiring short to positive --TFT sensor ECM/TCM

Replace the TFT and have a check done on the TCM as it is what decides the OD selection process. Check the condition of the oil and oil level and change if not bright cherry red

1998 dodge carravan where is the ecm

The ECM (Engine Control mModule) is under the hood on the drivers side on the right of the battery on the fender,...3 screws hold it to the fender. You will need to partially remove the Power Control Module (PCM has all the fuses and relays) right next to the battery

I have a 2011 dodge caliber and it isz throw a c0700 code could u tell me what this is

P0700 DODGE - Transaxle Control System Malfunction

Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Driveability problems
- Transaxle shifting problems

Possible causes - Shorted or open circuit within transmission control module (TCM)
- Failure of transaxle control module

Tech notes Since the P0700 is just and informative code, check the TCM for more codes to resolve the problem.

P0700 DODGE Description The transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the transaxle controls.
CLEAR THE CODES AND SEE IF IT RESETS. MOST LIKELY NOT A PROBLEM

check wiring and connections to the transmission for corrosion /water etc
have the OSS sensor tested by an accredited auto transmission shop--replace if faulty
if ok have the TCM ( transmission control module )tested

Check engine light is on with code p1698 what is this code

The code P1698 is: No CCD messages from TCM. That means the communication between the Transmission Control Module and the Power Control Module is lost. Sometimes this happens when a PCM, or TCM is replaced without being flashed, a bad connection at the PCM, TCM, or a bad TCM. Hope this helps.

Code p0750'p0755,p0765 and misfire when put in drive 1500 rpm

P0750 has to do with the Shift solenoid A its a circuit malfunction. Could be related to or caused by the wiring, shift solenoid, or ECM/TCM.

P0755 is also a shift solenoid B issue Circuit malfunction. Possible causes are wiring, shift solenoid, ECM/TCM.

P0765 is also a fhist solenoid D issue Circuit malfunction. Possible causes are in wiring, shift solenoid or ECM/TCM.

Misfire could be result of not shifting right and making vehicle seem as if there is a misfire but only a suggestion. But either way sounds as if you need to consult with a shop that can run tests with computer on transmission issues first.
