1994 Dodge Caravan intermittently runs rough...

The Dodge Caravan has about 60k miles and runs flawlessly most of the time. In the last month or so with increasing frequency, after driving for at least 8 miles, at lower RPMs (traffic lights or decelerating) the engine will occasionally run rough and sometimes stall. Once it stalls I have to wait about 5 minutes or so before it will start. The car is a dedicated CNG model. At first I considered a fuel line freeze, but it occurs at low tank levels as well as full. The onset of the issue is abrupt, the engine is trying to run but missing badly, not a smooth loss of power the might be associated with poor fuel flow. After a restart, it may or may not continue to be an issue. At higher RPMs (even after a restart) the issue is not evident.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Paul

1994 Dodge Caravan intermittent missing, loss of power

Number one and four are fired at the same time on a single wire from the PCM. Look for it to be intermittenly grounding somewhere along the route to the coil. You can wiggle the harness with the engine running to see if you can duplicate the miss. This will help to localize the area where you need to look closer. Look at areas where the harness crosses brackets or lays across areas like the transmission. Long term vibration can wear a small hole in the insulation causing intermittent problems on any circuit. I hope this helps.

Our 94 Dodge Caravan, with 196,000k miles stalled in an intersection today, everything seemed to be running fine, then no power...restarted and went till we got into our neighborhoood, where it happened...

well alot of questions .. is it getting spark is it getting fuel ? try this shoot a little starting fluid into the air cleaner while cranking and see if it starts and runs .. if so its a fuel problem .. then go from there. thanks Jerry holler if you need more.

2001 Chevy Venture 92K miles - code P0134

dunno bout rotating the engine to put those plugs in, but the O2 sensor is right in the way as your arm is stuffed up behind the engine (plugs have to be done from below at the back) so I wouldnt be shocked if you found a disconnected O2 sensor that was never reconnected, or a damaged wiring loom from rough contact with the mechanic's arm. Those plugs are very hard to change so go easy on the guy!

1994 Dodge Caravan rear brakes won't wear out.

Yes, this is very normal. You'll replace the front 3 times before you'll have to replace the rears. The reason for this is because 80% of your braking is in the front. There is nothing wrong with your brake system.
