Sounds like you may have air locked in brake lines or else a bad proportioning valve what that is is a junction where all your brake lines tie together and it is what determines what wheel gets the most fluid pressure.. are you sure it is not getting pumped out of the system ?(tip) look at the wheels on the inside all this requires is putting your head under the car..see if the inside of the wheel is wet if any of the four wheels are wet have the brakes done on that wheel or if you are able do them yoursel you can save your self some money ..at any rate check them ok? and keep me posted we will try to get you going email me with results to [email protected]

I have a 2002 pontiac grand prix. my e-brake light will stay on when the e-brake is not on.

Check your brake fluid level. Low fluid levels will cause the brake light to come on. If the fluid is not low, there could be a problem with the emergency brake light switch or the brake fluid level sensor.

My traction control light and anti lock light popped on today and now the brake light popped on. i read the manual and it says to switch the traction control button back to on but i can't find it

I think your traction control button is on the center console behind the Shifter.
But, I don't think that is the problem. That switch will cause the traction control and light to turn on and off. It should not affect the brake light and anti-lock light.

I would first check your brake fluid level. Top it off with the correct fluid. The fluid is a DOT number; like DOT3 or DOT5. Use the correct DOT fluid.
If the fluid is very low, you may need your brake fluid system bled to remove any air. And you may want to check the brake pads. Low fluid may mean you need new pads.

If that doesn't work, go to an auto parts store that will scan your car for ODB2 error codes. AutoZone will do it for free. I suspect you may have a bad wheel bearing. That will cause the ABS and Trac lights to go on. I've replaced GM bearing/sensors on several of my cars. The last one was my 2005 Bonneville. The bearing and sensor are combined in one unit.

(!) with a squiggly line in-between 2008 dodge caravan

Sounds like a brake light. Check your brake fluid and fill to the correct level if low then see if it goes out.

The Brake light says "BRAKE" is the Brake System Warning Light: "This light monitors various brake functions, including brake fluid level and parking brake application. If the brake light turns on, it may indicate that the parking brake is applied, that the brake fluid level is low, or that there is a problem with the anti-lock brake system (if equipped)."

Another is the Anti-Lock Brake System Light: "This light monitors the Anti-Lock Brake System. The light will turn on when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position and may stay on for as long as four seconds. If the ABS light remains on or turns on while driving, it indicates that the Anti-Lock portion of the brake system is not functioning and that service is required. However, the conventional brake system will continue to operate normally if the BRAKE warning light is not on."

It could also be the Tire Pressure Monitoring light. Check the brake fluid first and see if that fixes it.

no reset button.have the car anti-lock brake system scanned.to check code.because when anti - lock brake light come on.it can be many things.like faulty wheel sensor.faulty relay or the anti - brake unit low on brake fluid or the abs unit faulty.

The ABS anti lock warning light is on

Could be as simple as low fluid level in the master cylinder. Check that first and then if it is not low or filling it and making a few starts and stops does not kill the light then stop by your local parts store and they will read your codes for free and tell you what the problem is. Free is good, bad brakes is bad, but hopefully it is just the fluid level.

check the brake fluid level and if it is at the proper level then there is a problem with either your sensor or the brakes themselves check the pads first does the pedal shake when you press the brakes?

Brake failure/anti lock symbol and parking brake light stays on

The master cylinder has failed, the fluid bypasses from one cylinder to the other, this is really 2 cylinders in one, the brake system is split in an X pattern.
