Convert trunk lock assembly on 2008 Camry-CE

I want to swap my trunk lock assembly with the keyless model. I have an after market keyless system with the option for the trunk release but my trunk lock assembly does not have a release mechanism since it is the base model (CE). If I buy the trunk lock assembly that comes on the LE models I will have that option. My only concern is will this work out without much difficulties?

SOURCE: 97 Camry - trunk will not latch closed

Sparay lock assy with lubricant, and look where release cable attaches to lock assy, and push/pry it one way or the other to get it to move, opposite of where it is. Lube cable too.

SOURCE: does the Corolla 2005 CE allow for the keyless remote locks?

That depends if the car originally was equipped with the receiver for the keyless system. If so, you can buy the remotes from a dealer for about 99 dollars each. If the car does NOT hve the keyless receiver, the remotes will not work. What I would do is take the car to a dealer, their techs can look to see if the receiver isinstalled under the dash.

Trunk is stuck, key cylinder in horizontal position.

There should be an emergency pull somewhere that opens it from the inside.

Trunk will not open on 200 toyota camry latch and key don't work at all

Well after reading some of these solutions I was a bit worried as it sounded like it might not be a simple fix, luckily it was a very simple fix. On the 1999 Toyota Camry the driver side trunk release is latched to the trunk lock assembly via a metallic cable. This cable is housed in an outer tubing. At the end of the cable/tubing there is a plastic tab or notch for lack of a better word. The tab/notch is supported by a U-shaped socket right by the lock assembly. In my case the cable/tubing had dislodged from the socket. After I lodged the cable/tubing back into the socket, the trunk release worked like a charm, again! sweet!

2008 Volkswagen Jetta keyless entry & lock problems

If the system is not working even when you press the buttons on the door, then the problem is not with the remote control. I would first check if all the fuses are ok, if they are, I would check the wiring on the door to make sure there are no wires broken of chaffed. Focus first on getting the system working with the door buttons and after that is ok, the move on to the keyless system in case it still does not work. Hope this helps.

New batteries but remote won't click the door(s) or trunk. Ron

try programming the remote again, here is how u do that. if this doesn't fix the problem the remote may be defective, if you need a new one try ebay, they are very cheap to buy there.

.

Note: Existing keyless remotes will be erased with this procedure.
Existing working remotes will have to reprogrammed also.
1. Locate the programming connector wire located in the RH trunk area.
You may have to pull back right side trunk trim on trunk wall to locate
the single black/white wire.

2. The programming connector wire should have one termial in the plastic
connector on end of black/white wire. Ground the terminal in the connector
to a nearby bolt or trunk latch.
Leave connector wire connected to ground through out procedure.
3. System will now lock and unlock doors automatically to indicate
programming mode has been activated.
4. Press any button on keyless remote. System will respond by locking
and unlocking doors one time to indicate successful programming.
5. Repeat step 4 for to program any additonal keyless remotes including
and existing keyless remotes. Do not remove ground wire between
programming of keyless remotes.
6. Disconnect programming connector wire from ground to exit programming
mode.
7. Test keyless remote(s).

Manual key won't unlock doors or trunk

If not the wrong key, maybe the locks are seized from not being used. Over time with humidity, and lubricants drying up inside of the mechanics of the locks they could seize. When inserting the key the pins are not properly moving in to place to allow the tumbler assembly to turn.

Try using some silicon lubrication. Spray in to the lock. Work the key in and out of the lock a few dozen times before attempting to turn. Then spray in some graphite lock lubricant. Insert the key in and out a number of times. Then tap on the key end with something hard like a pliers or something not to heavy or forceful. Then try turning the key. Jiggle it a bit and moving it in and out. Eventually the pins should normally release and position themselves.

If all of the above does not work, then you will need to get a lock smith to assist. Most likely he will be able to get in to the vehicle so he can remove the locks to service them.
