To reset the system, get in the car and shut the door. Turn the key on to the "Run" position without cranking the engine. Leave the key there for exactly 10 minutes. Turn the key to the off position without removing it and back to "Run" for 10 more minutes.May 1, 2021
Question edited for clarity and correct name of vehicle.
You can't bypass it Cherie, it involves transponder chips, receivers and the engine computer (ECM).. The anti-theft system is there to stop theft of the vehicle, basically what you are trying to do. You have to fix the system, not find a way around it. This is the reset. As long as you battery is good and fully charged, it should only need doing once.
Just leave the key in the run position and the "Theft System " light on the dash will be flashing. Leave the key on for about 10 minutes and the light will stop flashing and go on solid. Then the theft system is disable.
http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/ Go to that link. You are exactly right. The engine swap has confused the anti theft security system. It can disable the starter and/or the injectors/fuel. There are ways to bypass these systems. You can do it yourself too. Ive personally done dozens of these bypasses, and they work great. Good luck
Use this link and read about the pro module complete BCM bypass this will work it did for me as i went through same thing with the bulldog partial bypass. http://newrockies.com/
I agree with Jon, you need to fix it properly. The key for passlock is just a mechanical key. It's the tumbler that communicates with passlock sensor.
I don't know anything about a passlock bypass? There are ways to start vehicle using an outside fuel source, but, because of safety issues, I don't want to mention it.
The place where you bought the bypass, do they have a web site? Can you talk to them?
On a 2003 Chevy Maibu the theft system light comes on and blinks when the system is triggered. The car will not start and the fuel pump cuts out. You must turn key to on and have all doors closed. Keep the key to on for 10 mins til theft light turns solid and then disappears. Then turn key to start and it should fire up.
check to see if the security light or anti theft light flashes. if that is the case, sounds like the bypass for the remote starter may be causeing the no start by tripping the anti theft system. Remove remote starter and bypass system and join any cut wires back together that may be cut for remote starter. Try starting, if theft light still flashes leave key in the on position after attempted start for 15 minutes till theft light goes solid, turn off and try again. Repeat process for three times to re-learn factory theft system in vehicle. If problem still persists, then take to your local dealer to reprogram factory theft module in the cluster.
My 2000 cavalier has done this for 6 months. You take your key out then open your door, wait ten minutes and the system resets itself and the car will start-annoying you bet!!!
