I have a 01 crown Vic p71 . I just change the timing guides with tensioner, remove oil pan and clean screen. Also I remove valve cover to make sure cam's was getting lubed. At this time my valve still tap and engine has a little knock with vibration. Would u think I need a new oil pump also my oil gauge jump up and down .
Tough to say. The lifter making the noise could be allowing oil pressure to escape. Or it may be dry for oil because oil is not getting to it.
You may have to take the lifters out to see if it is a lifter problem or lack of oil.
When I remove the valve cover I also remove the cam Bracket or cover. Made sure tha oil was Squirting out tha head hole ...I saw a post about cooling line being clogged , is this common
It really sounds like a failed lifter. If the cam is getting oil the lifters should be too. You could put one new lifter in the hole and cross that off the list. The oil gauge issue could be the gauge or the sending unit. Your oil pressure is going to be more at road speed than at idle under normal conditions.

SOURCE: engine knock 1999 ford crown vic
Are u using the recommended fuel ? if so try running a couple of cans of fuel injection upper cylinder cleaner through the system with the next few tanks of gas, try LUCAS brand, it is among the best, the next step is to have the engine de-carboned by the dealer, this works very well, you can also remove an octane selection jumper, it retards the timing 2 degrees, that will most times stop the ping.

Check the starter solenoid. Usually mounted on a fender well. Find by following the + battery cable.
SOURCE: Wiper motor replacement for a 99 crown vic
I replaced the same part on a 1994 Crown Vic. There are a few bolts which go through rubber mounts on the firewall and that is how the wiper motor fits against the firewall. There is a clip on the wiper drive that must be pressed and slid off the wiper shaft. The hardest part was getting clearence between the engine and wiper motor. If I remember there was a way to turn the wiper case to clear the engine. I have asked myself why this was engineered like this? There is nothing important in the way that 3/4" of clearance could have been given for removal.
SOURCE: Oil not circulating ? 1999 Nissan Altima DOHC,
Well, from the oil pump it goes into your oil filter so the lines going from the pump into the filter could be clogged. check that and see. Also on most imports I have found that they have to be primed after the oil pump has been replaced. Buy a oil pressure gauge and hook it up. Disconnect your fuel and spark delivery and then just crank over your motor to make sure you have good pressure. It takes up to 30 seconds to build on some cars. hope that helps.
