SOURCE: Ford fiesta keeps stalling

Hi

The problem is with your Idle Control Valve.

Look in the middle of the engine and you will see a plastic air box. Fastened to this will be the valve, a small cylinder with a wire connected to it, should be held on by 2 bolts

Undo the bolts and remove the valve. Spray WD40 into the two holes until it runs clear then rinse with petrol and let it dry.

Replace and bobs your uncle, should work fine.

You can replace the item for around £25

SOURCE: 2005 ford f150 stalls when

Hello, Try having your battery load tested. If it tests good, then charge it and try using it again. Check under your dash at the top of the Brake pedal lever for a dislodged or smashed Interlock switch. If it is a stick-shift, check the Interlock on the clutch lever. Check for clean battery terminals.

Autozone, Advance, and Oreilys will check your onboard computer free either with a scanner or you need to ask for a charging system check.

If you watch your dashboard Voltmeter, you will probably see it drop the charging after the vehicle has been run about 5 minutes . It will do the same thing after a jump start too. I have been told that you never want to jump start the newer Fords.

Many Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury products act this way. I have yet to see a TSB or printed answer from Ford on this problem. My opinion is that the Batterysaver feature is part of the problem with the Antitheft and battery being the other problems.

The Antitheft drops the Starter voltage to the Starter to 7 Volts or less, if it detects someone messing with the battery. The Batterysaver cuts off Parasitic power drains. Unfortunately the Batterysaver can identify your charging system as a Parasitic drain and disconnect that circuit.
This is because the Alternator uses power to generate output.

I have had clients whose batteries were completly drained at 70MPH when the charging system stopped charging miles earlier. So watch your Voltmeter before you consider it repaired.

SOURCE: when pulling away in my ford fiesta its doesnt want to go

Do you have any preventative maintenance done a couple
times a year or any testing done or just wait until it doesn't
run correctly, that is your problem with the car.

You can't start a car & drive away 30 seconds later

It runs off the computer until warmed up & you have very little
fuel control when cold

I have a 1997 Fiesta auto, runs fine apart from a slight gearbox issue. When starting from cold and selecting Drive the car will sit there for upto 5 seconds before moving away and will stall if the brakes...

I would be looking for a vacumn hose leaking. The cold engine needs a rich mixture and braking uses the vacumn booster causing the mixure to lean. A warm engine races with the extra air.

I have an L reg Ford Fiesta Ghia we have a re-accuring problem of when you first start it up the choke doesn't automatically cut in and as soon as you put it into drive or rev it splutters and cuts out...

Hi, This seems like the automatic choke is not working best & easy way is get a choke cable from scrap yard & and use that and ignore the automatic choke. I dont know how many miles your spark plugs have done but if over 10,000 then it's worth changing the spark plugs at same time. Please leave me feed back: Malcolm Campbell, Thanks.
