There is usually a transmission cooler in the front of the car. transmission fluid flows through rubber or steel lines to the trans cooler and back. those lines are commonly known to rust and leak.

2002 Auto Hyundai Accent stuck in second gear will not go up

having the transmission rebuilt in 2010 means that the tranny is 7 years old since service so there can be any amount of faults
run the fault codes to check for problem TCM, VSS, servos and solenoids
check the vacuum actuator for the transmission and vacuum lines
change the transmission oil
the engine light also reports on transmission failures

Hyundie 1300 Accent Hatchback year of manufacture 2000. Is the transmission lubricated via the engine or is it separate and filled manually.

Hi,
Off course! The engine oil is different from tranny lubrication! Fill the engine oil via engine oil cap. If u have an automatic transmission, check the level of ATF by looking at the transmission dipstick. and fill it up via dipstick tube. If you have a manual tranny, check the gear oil via inlet nut under the transmission.
Hope that clears everything!

Car will not go in reverse!

Have you changed your transmission fluid? I am assuming that it is automatic.Could be low on transmission fluid. Could also be filters in you tranny stopped up with slug/ gear shivers.Could also be band
in transmission needs adjusting.

2001 Hyundai Accent - Automatic Trasmission fluid

It is a proprietary Hyundai transmission fluid. Don't use anything other than the Hyundai stuff. This fluid has superb lubrication properties, but it breaks down much quicker than the specified 30,000 mile fluid change intervals. I highly recommend having both the fluid and filter changed once a year or once every 15,000 to 20,000 miles.

Hyundai Accent 2000 When clutch is depressed gears crunchy.

how many miles have you driven the car sence it came out of storage? you said it sat for 6 years it could be rust on fly wheel or pressure plate, that would make it shift like you said, because the clutch plate is either sticking to the fly wheel or pressure plate. when it shifts hard that means the clutch is not releacing all the way most likely because of the rust. i would just drive it and see if it comes out of it. it shoud not take long maybe 50 to 100 miles more or less. also i would chg. trans oil, setting that long moisture could have got in there, you know what they say about oil and water. also if it has a cable for clutch chk. see if it's hanging up to. setting that long rust becomes a big factor. hope this helps.

Transmission problem 1999

just purchased a 1999 hyundai accent, i was told that it needs a tranny because the car would not come out of first gear. but when i test drove it when i bought it, the gears were shifting fine. i put 50 miles on the car and there's no signs of any tranny problems. i checked tranny fluid and it was about 20 ounces low. would this cause this to come out of first gear?

p.s. the car only has 47,000 miles on it.
