About 7 years ago a Hornet (CEO890) remote door opener and alarm system was in stalled in my 2001 Toyota by Sears (and they no longer do this!). Replaced battery for first time about one month ago. Tried to start car a couple of days ago and it was "dead" -- would not start, no lights on dash, nothing. After sitting for a couple of hours went out to try again and when I opened the door the alarm went off! and car started fine. Took car directly to mechanic and he checked battery, alternator and starter -- all just fine. Car started fine several times over next day or so, then again was "dead", wouldn't start. My neighbor raised hood (was going to try to jump car with cables) and just touched the plastic covering the one battery terminal and when he did, the alarm went off, and then car started fine! Is this the wiring, and if so, who do I go to since Sears no longer does this. Could it be I need a new remote and if so who could program it to work on my car?
Sounds more like a faulty battery terminal to me from your description ,try cleaning and make sure its tight then smear with petroleum grease.Clean terminal with a kettle of hot water first

You need to first look under the drivers side dash area near the hood release/fuse panel area and see if there is a valet switch. The switch will look like a little toggle or a push switch. After you locate it, turn the ignition switch to the on position(dont start it) and flick the valet to the opposite position it is in now. If done correctly in most cases the red system light will stay a constant instead of off or blinking indicating you are in valet mode. Next try to start the engine. If this doesnt work you need to remove the alarm system and repair the ignition switch wiring or replace the electrical portion of the ignition switch. The aftermarket alarm cuts into the ignition switch wires and bypasses the start circuit through the alarm module. When disarmed the alarm completes the circuit and allows the car to start. you can try switching the key to the "on" position then open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and reconnect after 2minutes. this will allow the alarm to be '"reset" and will recognize that you have the key for the vehicle.

Your Central locking wire is short from any one door side. Please check it properly.

First, DON"T check your alternator that way anymore. It's not good to do on newer systems! The best, quickest check I can tell you is to put a volt meter across the battery. Running with accessories off you should see voltage of about 13.5 to 14.5.
With all accessories and headlamps on high turned on, it should not drop below 12.5. (and that is the absolute low end!).
It sounds like something in the car is staying on. check the glovebox light and interior light delay and make sure they are OK. Otherwise, you will have to start checking entire system for a draw that's taking out the battery overnight. To check, you can pull one fuse at a time and see if draw goes away, then check system that fuse serves.
