My truck shut off while i was driving I replaced my fuel filter on my 97 Ford explorer but my truck only started for 2 mins only to die again my fuel pump is coming on it cranks but will not turn over what else can be the problem

The engine turning over with the starter & cranking
is the same thing
You have a No Crank or No Start?
You may hear the fuel pump, but have to check
for pressure with a gauge on the motor or with
a scan tool
Have to check for codes
You may have bad ignition coils
& it went into ETC Fail Safe, to protect
the exhaust converter from cylinder misfires

Are you not planning on going to the same shop or a different one. We can only guess at so may things & I gather you won't be working on it yourself

You need a scan tool to determine if it is the speed limiter shutting everything down or if its another failure have you owned the vehicle the entire time our was it purchased used

I have a 98 explorer and had a similar problem. It wound up being bad spark plug wires. So I changed them and the spark plugs while I was at it. It ran great and still does. I'm not sure if that's your problem I would need more information.

Lost power suddenly, idles but will not accellerate

Have your fuel pump and fuel filter replaced. If you let the truck sit off for 30 to 45 min; and then try to start it and drive, it should run again but only for a few minutes before losing power again. This is caused by the fuel pump overheating.

Your fuel filter is just ahead of right rear wheel along frame rail.

My truck 99 ford ranger died while driving down the road

fuel filter usually dont cause it to die and not start back, thay usually cause rough running. see if your fuel pump is running by getting in and roll up all windows so as quite as possible then cycle the key from off to run and lisen for the pump to run for 2 to 3 seconds should be a faint buzz sound if no sound is heard then replace the fuel pump relay, if no help probably going to need fuel pump

Rough Ideal on 2004 Ford Explorer

Open hood and listen for vacuum leak sound. pcv hose is most likley cause.
