A few days ago I was stopped at an intersection and when I pushed the gas to go it didn't move but a few inches but revved like crazy. I managed to inch across by accelerating ever so slightly and my car knocked back into gear and I drove up to speed. It happened again at the next stop and did the same thing. We checked the transmission fluid (which wasn't even reading initially) and fixed that. It ran wonderfully (albeit slightly hesitant) for a few days until just a few hours ago (4 days after the fix). I was at another intersection, stopped again, and it repeated the initial problem. What is wrong with the car and how can I fix it?
Did you check the transmission fluid again. You could have a major leak. Or reving the car up so high it started to burn the clutches in your transmission, resulting in replacing the transmission. Always check the fluid. A few dollars for fluid is better than 1500 bucks for a new tranny
Check the vacuum lines coming off the transmission, there could be a small leak. If all else fails, I would take it to a transmission shop and ask them to rebuild it. Or you could find a junk yard and pick one up if it's too expensive to rebuild. Either way transmission are pretty expensive to work on unless you can replace it yourself.
