The door locks with just keep locking and unlocking the motors for the back vent windows will try and run but the windows do not move and there is a clicking under the drivers side dash and in the glove compartment. The van will not start and all this happens with the key not in the ignition. I have to unhook the battery for it to stop. please help.

Daughter had same problem on '05 T&C. Neighborhood mechanic searched Internet and found 80-90 others with same problem right around 40,000 miles. Free solution was to pull yellow 20A IOD fuse in right front corner of fuse box under hood, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert fuse. Should solve problem as long as you don't lock doors with FOB. You can unlock doors with FOB, but apparently locking with FOB causes the problem.
Permanent solution is to have dealer reprogram computer for around $50 which is what my daughter chose to do because of inconvenience of not being able to lock doors with FOB when getting baby/carseat out of vehicle.

does this van have factory theft device? if so you may have to reset to get the ramp working
SOURCE: 2005 crank position sensor location
The crank shaft sensor on that model should be on the driver side towards the back of the tranny its not hard to get to.

Thanks to the person with the wd40 suggestion. stuff that little red tube right up there and liberally spray. I just had the panic when I went to drive to the store in my 98 town & country and the key didn't turn. I read lots of varying solutions and was ready to get the emergency locksmith out here to replace the barrel and then I stumbled across that suggestion here. It made so much sense...and it worked. The barrel will probably still need to be replaced at some point, but not urgent.
thanks again!
