Disconnect your positive from the battery and connect it back on.

This means there is a loss of communication between computers. The bus line is the multiple computers' telephone line. You need to take it to the dealer to find where communication has failed

No buS after complete engine shutdown. Has previously had difficulties with shutting down only to re-start when keyed.

After doing a lot of reading on bus errors in Chrysler models, I've found that Chrysler did a lot of changing/upgrading between the 1980s when the CCD (Chrysler Collision Detection) bus was introduced and 2005, when most models were switched to the CAN (Controller Area Network) bus system. In between those two, from 2001 through 2004 for most models, they used the PCI (Programmable Communication Interface) bus system.
With the older CCD bus system, apparently many NOBUS errors could be corrected by changing the crank position sensor, as it was one of the signals carried by the bus. Or it could be corrected by changing the PCM or instrument cluster.
For the PCI system, ALL controllers with microprocessors (PCM, TCM, BCM, instrument cluster, anti-lock brake controller, air bag controller, keyless entry, sound system, etc) are linked to the PCI bus. So a NOBUS error message in the odometer only says that there is a communication fault in the bus; it can't tell you which module/microprocessor is not working properly or if it's a wiring error. Changing out the PCM may correct the problem since the PCM is the 'dominant' module, but no guarantees.
Reading forums and other web sites regarding this issue, the prevailing advice is to use a DRB scanner capable of communicating with the different modules to see if they are all communicating properly. But it seems that the fault most often lies in a poor ground connection or damaged wiring or connectors.
If your local mechanics are stumped, find one (or go to a dealer) who can do troubleshooting of all modules with appropriate scanners. It may be a quick fix, but you'll have to invest in the expertise of someone who knows what to look for and how to diagnose it.

My 2002 put cruiser reads no bus in ?the odomator display even with ?the key off and out also dash lights flash off and on

The no bus message means one of the control modules isn't communicating on the data bus or isn't working ! I don't know how many modules yours has but ,if it has antilock brakes an I know it has air bags , an PCM - engine transmission computer , the instrument cluster has a control module an all these modules are on a serial data communication network , there share information ! The speedometer gets it's info from the VSS vehicle speed sensor through the PCM over the bus to the instrument cluster same with coolant temperature ! So I would have it taken to the dealer if you don't know about this stuff ! Need special tools to test this 2004 Chrysler Sebring No Bus message in cluster testing

Won,t crank says no bus fuel gage wont work.there was a loose wire in steering column hooked this back up bus light went off cranked said p done .went to town yesterday shut off coming home cranked back,...

What color wire was loose ? VI/YL - Violet with yellow trace . A no bus message means the instrument cluster lost communication with the serial data network . Do you know what that is ? Gauge info. comes from other computers on the vehicle through the data bus. If a module (computer ) looes connection some how , faultly module , wiring problem etc... this message will show an more then likely a DTC - diagnostic trouble code will set in one of the modules on the vehicle . Don't know how much you know about this stuff , but you can not go to a auto part's store an have it check for code's . The tool they use doesn't check all the computers on the vehicle . The data bus on your vehicle is the PCI bus. 006 Chrysler PCI Communications

Reading as much as you can about this an finding wiring diagrams to test the bus wiring plus having the modules checked for communication network code's is the way to find a fix . Most of the time it is a loose connection that causes this problem .

My 99 dodge durango has a 'no bu5' code on the mileage abd it wont start at all. how do i fix this?

No bus message on the instrument cluster mean's there is a serial data bus problem . All the module's (computers) on your vehicle are connected on the CCD data network . They share information on the network . A shorted bus wire , a module malfunctioning an bring down the network can cause modules not to send and receive data which would cause a no start .

Dakota - 2001, started, died and won't start. all dash indicators light as normal except odometer says "No Bus."

Hi, if odometer say no bus you are loosing your bus signal some were ,with out a bus signal the car not going to run the bus signal runs to every module on your truck. This could be as easy as a blow en fuse to a wire shorted out or a bad module . Depends on your know how around cars . If your not sure you should take to local shop or dealer. If i can help you further just re post.
Thanks dodge tec

CODE READS NO BUS WHAT IS WRONG

Hello
Most of the time when your code says no bus there is a loose wire or conector between the ecm and the dash,
Many times its where the wireend conects to the speedo head where it is a problom. I would look there first
