My Trooper is overcharging, as the engine revs the volts go up,sometimes to about 16v, If I am driving along steady at about 2000 revs the volts drop back to the correct possision for a few seconds and then they go back up to 16v for a few second more, this continues until either i slow down or speed up. I have changed the voltage regulator in the alternator and both batteries are good. please help I am running out of ideas. thanks Jason
Make sure the ground wire going out of the voltage regulator is grounded and the alternator ground is good.Check all ground wires to there are the ones that stop the over charging.Theres also is a small little capacitor that should bolt right next to the regulator that holds alot of the over charging..

Get a Beck Arnley alternator. The autozone .napa advance auto ones will give trouble like this.
