SOURCE: Where is radiator fan relay (2002 Mercury Sable)?

Please see in THIS ELECTRICAL SCHEMATIC...

Relay # k305 in the battery junction box controls the high speed fan

Relay #K309 in the battery junction box controls the low speed fan.

HOWEVER - if neither one is energizing the fan - it is highly unlikely both have failed at the same time.

Instead - the K163 PCM Power relay has likely failed... or the 40A fuse (f109)

Check ALL the fuses on the top of the page at or above the P93 battery junction box.

you could have. Take a look and find out. If the lid/cover of the fusebox does not name the fuses and relay's check owners manual, find the fuse(s) and/or relay and check it out.

Relay can be tested in a few ways,

first, easiest way get a buddy to go in the vehicle and switch your AC on and off, find the relay and get in real close and listen and feel for the relay clicking as he turns it on and off, if the relay is clicking it is most likely working fine.

if you are unsure on relay working you can try this method: theres usually 2 switches one is normally closed one normally open. Using a multimeter and the electrical diagram that should be on the side of the relay itself you should be able to figure out which switch is normally open and which is normally closed. Look carefully sometimes the writing, labels and numbers are hard to see.

Another possible cause is that your temp sensor failed so the computer thinks its -40 degrees and therefor won't run the fan. check the temperature sensor wiring, and the sensor itself after you look at fuses and relay operation.

Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: is there a fuse for the coolant fan for a 1996

Yes, it would be located in the fuse panel under the hood. If fuse panel is clean there should be a diagram with each properly identified. If only numbers refer to owners manual, the numbers will be identifed in that.

2000 daewoo leganza is overheating, leaking anti freeze, and water. what is wrong?

sound like thermostat sticking close.replace thermostat and radiator pressure cap.if already done.you could have faulty water pump.if engine overheating at long slow traffic line or setting at a stand still.the engine cooling fans should be running, check and see if cooling fans running if not, check cooling fans fuses and relays.if all is good, hot wire make sure coolings fans okay.if all is good, code scan vechicle for faulty engine coolant temperature sensor and ecm problems.you need a code scanner where you can check live data check see if coolant temperature sensor reading correctly if engine coolant temperature is 190 degrees the coolant sensor. the scanner suppose to show 190 degrees in temperature if not it reads 80 or 90 degrees the engine coolant temperature sensor is faulty need replacing.if all is good check engine oil if look like milk shake blow head gasket will cause over heating.to be on the safe side i would replace thermostat and radiator pressure cap first.to make sure engine coolant circulating through radiator and engine block.

Cooling fans won't run

Check the cooling fan relays, and the fuses, also if the thermostat is stuck, the coolant sensor will not sense the hot coolant, and will not activate the relay that turns the cooling fans on,also,if the coolant is low,or has air in the system it will do this also.

I have a 2003 Golf overheating

the system is the coolant temp sensor which reports to the ECM which operates a relay to turn on the fan
there are 2 fuses in the system
could be a fuse , sensor , relay or fan
easiest way is to get power directly to the fan first , then check the system fuses , then replace the relay leaving the sensor to the last
