How to replace serpentine belt on 1995 Honda Accord LX

Okay there are serpentine belts the power steering and the V shaped system one....okay I can get the power steering belt on and give it tension...but how do you give tension to the V-shaped belt after you have removed it? Does it have a tensioner? how do you put it back on? thank you...

I don't show a V belt listed for a 95 Accord with the 4 cyl or V6 engine. Are you sure ? Normally, with a V belt you loosen an idler pulley or the main component depending on what the belt drives.

SOURCE: 1993 honda accord timing belt tensioner

timing belt tensioner should be spring loaded. its tight up there but you'll have to push the tensioner either up or down and slide the belt over it.

SOURCE: how does one remove the belt tensioner off a 2001 honda passport?

14 or 15mm socket to release tension. Use socket with leverage bar push/pull towards driver side. Will notice tension releasing, pull belt. Use 5/16 allen wrench for bolt in center, 12 mm socket for mounting bolt. Remove bolts, remove tensioner.

SOURCE: How do I loosen the tensioner to replace the

First, note how the drive belt is routed, then use a wrench on the tensioner pulley center bolt and turn the tensioner clockwise (four cylinder engine) or counterclockwise (six cylinder engine) to release the drive belt tension. Remove the drive belt from the tensioner and relax the tensioner. Fit the new belt on the other pulleys, then turn the tensioner again and fit the new belt over the tensioner.

The picture is from a different model, but it is similar to what you are working with.

I have 1995 Honda accord LX 4 door, it has 135,000 miles. Recently when driving, it is stopping all of a sudden without any warning on the road. It is very scary when car looses it power and stops...

If you haven't had the timing belt done, there is a good chance that the timing belt broke. It is due to be replaced every 90,000 miles along with the water pump. You have an interference engine which means that if the timing belt fails, the valves will hit pistons likely cause damage to the engine. Best case, you get away with having the timing belt replaced. Worst case, you will need an engine.

The power steering pump should have a couple of retainer bolts, and then one adjuster bolt. Loosen the two retainer bolts slightly, then adjust the pulley back out of the way, slip the belt on, and use the power steering pump to tension the system.

Replace serpentine belts 95 accord lx 2.2L

While wearing safety goggles and engine switch off.

Your 95 Accord comes with a 2.2L (4 cylinder)
I believe the 2.2L has two belts: power steering and alternator (with or without A/C - different belt applications).
If you are replacing belts note the routing of each one..
. In any case these belts are not easy to replace . Each of the belts has its own manual tensioner. You should have pry bar or lever to push the tensioner back to release the tension on the belt.
There is not a lot of room to work between the pulleys and body of car (the engine is transversely mounted). Slip the belt off any pulley you can reach. Carefully release the pry bar on the tensioner pulley. To replace belt reverse the above step. Do not pinch or crimp the new belt.

You may also want to consider the timing belt also.
