Front wheel noise whilst driving

Saab 93 convertible 2004 plate. Suddenly started yesterday. Pull away and rubbing noise heard from front drivers side wheel. Noise disipates as speed increases and decreases when I turn away from that wheel but returns when turn toward it or drive in straight line. Is this my wheel bearing gone? If so how easy is it to change and how expensive? I am in the UK.
Many thanks
Tony

Yes it sounds like a wheel bearing.I would jack the suspected wheel off the ground and then grab it from the top and bottom and then try to move it with a push and pull movement. If the wheel moves that is most likely the bad one.I would also try the other wheel just to be sure. The bearing isn't to bad a price but the bearing needs to be pressed in and out to be replaced.

2004 Saab 93. My battery went flat on my Saab whilst away for 6 weeks. On trying to jump start it lights come on dashboard but will not turn over. Any ideas how to fix this please.

You need to reset the immobilizer and alarm. You may need an auto-locksmith or auto electrician. First though, make sure the battery is fully charged and has at least 12.4 volts.

I have a noise when I'm driving. It sounds like when the brake pads wear n start on the rotors. When I turn my wheel left, it's louder, then softer when straight again. Sounds like smooth grinding?

Congats to you, especially at 53. Go back to the passenger side and check the backing plate/dust cover for the rotor. They do bend or can be bent when doing the work you did. They can and will make noise and get louder when turning. I usually use a screwdriver and go around and bend it away from the rotor. Sometimes I have to pull the tire off, because it is rusted and rubbing towards to center of the rotor.

Saab 93 bumper removal

It depends on what year your car is,

If it's the pre 02 car then inside the boot there are 2 M10 nuts near the tie down eyes, remove these and then pull the bumper tips outwards whilst pulling the bumper rearwards.

If its the post 02 car then remove the torx screws inside the wheelarch 2each side, remove screw from bottom edge of bumper near to wheel arch each side, remove 2 plastic nuts from lower bumper near spare wheel well, remove rear light clusters then remove the screws behind them, unclip ends of bumper from bodywork and pull rearwards.

Hearing noises from the driver side front and rear wheels

Jack up that side of the car and turn the wheels by hand to narrow down where the noise is comming from. You may have binding of brakes, if you are driving slow down the road and let the steering wheel go does the car pull to one side ? does it get worse if you touch the brake ? If it does, check the front.

Saab 93 - noisy when going over bumps on the road.

Have you tried driving over a bump whilst also applying the brakes? (Right foot on gas, left gently on brake - with no one behind you!) If the noise goes away, then it could be the brake pads that are not fitted correctly. Only posting this, as this just happened to mine...the mechanic took it over bumps and noise was there. Applied brakes whilst going over bump, noise went away. Replaced badly fitted rear pads (had been bodged by another garage) and the problem was solved.
