SOURCE: bonneville ignition cylinder replacement
get new cylinder look at it and see the spring loaded tab you need to push in. Now pull the steering wheel column lock plate (gm tool required unless you have super thumbs) pull out key buzzer switch , roll key over to unlock wheel, press the same area on the lock cylinder to release it

if you look by the crankshaft pulley to the right you will see a tubular looking shaft about 1" diameter , you will notice you can't get the belt out from under this piece , it has a nut on it , once you take the nut off , you will notice it has a star shaped point on the tip of the stud , it requires a reverse torx socket or wrench to remove the stud , when you get the stud out the tube piece it can be removed , then the belt comes off , replace the belt , now comes the tricky part , fitting that tube spacer back into its spot , it can be difficult , once its in place put the stud back in , and put the nut on and tighten it , your pretty much a pro now . thanks.

The security system has been activated call the dealer to getthe deatils on how to reset it, normally you pull the security fuse for 30 seconds to restet it. if that does not work call the dealer and they can help you.

It sounds like you have a short somewhere that is draining the battery...this type of thing is usually caused by a faulty voltage regulator. I recommend taking the alternator to an autoparts store to have it tested...don't be surprised if the alternator tests good; a faulty voltage regulator can and will drain a battery in a matter of hours. I am including a link where you can order a voltage regulator for your Bonneville or, while you are at the autoparts store, you can buy one there. The link will help you to see what the voltage regulator looks like so you can identify it in your engine compartment. Hope this helps, good luck!
