I am pretty sure the Land Cruiser Prado 3.4 liter (3378cc) V6 5VZ-FE was a dual overhead cam that was chain driven.
But I have not actually ever seen or worked on one, since it was not common in the US.
In the US I believe it is sold as the Lexus GX, but with the larger V8.

The best way to tell is to simply look.
If it is chain driven, you will see no large cogged or toothed belt behind a shield, that goes all the way to the top of the engine.
If the cams are belt driven, you will.
Cam sprockets tend to be large and near the top of the engine.

I'm not positive but usually all idler pulleys ride on the outside of the belt because most of the belts have ridges or notches on the inside portion of the belt and that would overwork the already overworked idler pulley. Like I say, I'm not 100% sure but that's usually the norm.

I understand that this warning light comes on whenever the odometer reaches 100,000 and multiples thereof, as a reminder to change the timing belt. Once the t-belt has been changed, the light should be off. How? I don't know - the local Toyota service center made the change for me. good luck. Rolf H.

The fuel valve(Slide ?) in the pump sometimes sticks open and supplies more fuel than normal therefore motor rattles like hell and loses power.any ideas? Toyota are at a loss with this, their Computer says all's ok!!
