How do i replace/remove the headlights from a 97 accord?

I am trying to replace one of my headlights but i don't want to damage any parts in the process. I asked a mechanic and he gave me an extremely high estimate to do it for me. Help anyone???

    I'm sorry, i didn't explain myself. I don't need to replace a bulb. I need to replace the entire head lamp. I believe i need to remove the bumper in order to do so but i don't know how.

  1. Locate the headlight bulb that needs to be replaced. NOTE: It may be necessary to remove a component or the composite headlight assembly to gain access to the bulbs.
  2. Turn the headlights off.
  3. Detach the two prong connector from the base of the headlight bulb.
  4. Twist the bulb counterclockwise to unlock it from the headlight housing, then carefully withdraw the bulb from the housing. WARNING
    Do not touch the glass part of the bulb with your fingers. The pads of your fingers contain oils that will cause premature bulb failure. To install:
  5. Install a new bulb into the headlight housing, then turn it 1⁄4 turn to lock it into place.
  6. Attach the 2 prong connector to the bottom of the bulb.
  7. Turn the headlight switch on to make sure the bulb works, then turn the switch off.
  8. Install any components that were removed to get to the headlight bulb.

    Yep....just researching it...you do need to remove the bumper...I can't find the info on all that it entails removing your bumper though.

4D flashing normally tells you that there is NO way for the ECM to know the transmission temperature, So I would make sure the temp sensor OF THE TRANSMISSION is hooked up properly. Try that and let me know.

Headlights was shorting out now they dont work
I doubt that they were shorting out, it's more likely the main headlight switch is damaged from heat and this causes the headlights to blink on and off an finally not work at all. Remove the Headlight switch and then look at the large connector to it, it will be discolored from heat, replace the switch and the headlight switch connector. You can buy both parts from the dealer or in some cases better auto parts stores like Napa and Carquest. Do not use crimp connectors to install the new repair connector, solder and shrink tube the connections ONE WIRE AT A TIME!. Both parts must be replaced or the new headlight switch will fail in a very short time from overheating. If you don't have the skill to do this have it done, it is a safety issue.

97 Honda Accord. Dash & taillights blow fuses. I have eliminated the rear part of the car, completely removed stereo, entire shift console,instrument panel, heater controls, all bulbs, replaced dimmer...
Bad grounds cause weak dim lights and intermittent operation a positive circuit shorting to a metal ground causes shorts and blown fuses burnt connections. You need a wiring diagram for the circuit and need to trace the wires and look for a short. Or if there is no short in the wiring and this vehicle uses a module computer for the lighting the module could be faulty.

Can't replace passenger side headlight on 4 cylinder sedan because of obstruction from what appears to be part of the emission control system (a plastic funnel assembly). Can't free the three screws...
  1. Remove the front bumper.
  2. Disconnect the connectors (A).
    1. Remove the five mounting bolts (B), then remove the headlight assembly (C).
    2. Install the headlight in the reverse order of removal.
    3. After replacement, adjust the headlights to local requirements.

Headlight change
Whoa!!!! You don't need to remove the bumper. 90 and up Accords have a replaceable bulb. The manual says to disconnect the neg. battery cable before starting. You need to access the bulb from the back, remove the connector from the back of the assembly, then turn the retaining ring counterclockwise, remove bulb from housing.
When installing the new bulb DO NOT touch it, oils from your skin will cause the bulb to overheat where it has been touched, and shorten the life of the bulb. Wear gloves to handle it.

94 honda accord cuts off while driving
94-97 accord have common issue on key ignition. Key ignition seems to corroded. Solution take it apart clean or best way is to replace it. I know because I have done it to 94 accord 4 cylinders, 95 accord 6 cylinders and 97 accord 4 cylinders.

How do I replace the headlight on a 97 Nissan pickup
According to the Manual, disconnect the - battery terminal, remove the clips attaching the raditor grille, remove front parking lights, then remove the grille, pulling it upward.remove the screws holding the headlight, careful not to disturb the aiming adjustment screws.
