Code 136 is for a problem with the O2 sensor mounted in the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter.
The sensor would need to be checked with a scanner.

P0136 ford windstar 2000

P0136 is an oxygen sensor check code for sensor 2 in bank 1. This can indicate a faulty sensor, but more commonly it indicates an issue with the exhaust. There may be a leak somewhere near the sensor causing an erroneous report to the engine computer for fuel to air ratio in the exhaust. This can be difficult to detect. At a garage, they will probably use a smoke machine to detect airflow around exhaust gaskets to spot a leak, barring that, they will replace the sensor. If the light still comes on after confirmation there are no leaks and the sensor has been replaced, it would indicate a problem in the wiring on the line between the sensor and the engine computer.

P0136 on a 95 camry

Hi there:
Both generic codes refer at Oxygen Sensors, an HO2S that responds too slowly is most likely defective. In order to solve it just replace the HO2S; check there description and diagnosis:
- DTC P0136 - O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
- DTC P0153 - O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

P0036/p0136/p0171/p0412 are the codes that my 01 TT has and the engine light is on. What could the problem be?

Hello!
The codes stand for the second lambda sensor and the secondary air injection solenoide. Check if you have 12V supply voltage at the lambda sensor.If you have it then probably the sensor is damaged, if you don't you have to check the fuses and wires.

Check engine light is on

P0136 = O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

Which would be the oxygen sensor after the converter.
