2005 Lincoln Navigator stopped running, had oil but is now 3 quarts low. Suggestions?

I have a 2005 Lincoln Navigator that I have had no problems with. Yesterday it started, I reversed and then when I put it in drive it drove a few few and quit. Blue smoke out of the tailpipe. It will not start, and when I checked the oil it was full. I checked again this morning and it is 3 quarts low, but there is no leak under the truck. It will start, but will not idle and immediately stalls. Suggestions?

IT BURNED THE THREE QUARTS OUT THE TAILPIPE IN BLUE SMOKE. CHECK THE PVC. OPEN THE RADIATOR CAP WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD AND LOOK FOR THE PROPER COLOR OF THE COOLANT. SPARK PLUGS ARE FOULED BY OIL

SOURCE: 98 lincoln navigator loud noise, shaking, high rpm at idle, drive

I don't know how much oil you had to put in but it sounds like you have maybe more than opne issue and both sound major. One is engine reving and speed not picking up sounds like trans problem. Two the engine shaking and making noise and being run low on oil leans toward possible engine damage. If your mechanicly inclined check all fluids and when checking trans fluid smell it. If it smells burnt the trans has been damaged. Check oil pressure and make sure coolant is full. You may have to take it into the shop.

SOURCE: 99 navigator. Wont start. Checked oil not on

If you ran out of oil your engine is frozen You can now use it as a large paper weight. Even if you could start it everything inside is shot. Go to a junkyard and get an engine and have them or some one else install it

Does a 2005 lincoln navigator have an indicator to tell you if your oil is low?

Don't think so

You wouldn't need one anyway

You check your oil every 3 or 4 weeks
right!

My 2003 Lincoln Navigator has given me so much problems, it shakes, makes annoying sound, and sometimes it turns off by itself when I'm in a stop sign or red light! I have taken it to 3 different mechanics who have said that the diagnostic shows that it's not gettting furl? They've tried changing spark plugs, gas filter...any suggestions?

Engine noise

The ticking may have been related to the low dirty oil condition, did you get proof of regular service? the engine in your truck does have some history of oil consumption problems, but I think by 05 they where fixed by Ford, the ticking is either the cam chain or the cam followers, never heard anything called a camshaft phaser, and I have worked for a Ford dealer 20 years. Abnormal oi use is anything over 1 quart US for every 1000 miles of driving, a little more if you drive in hot weather conditions. Put a can of Berrymans Chemtool in the oil, this may help to clean the inside of the engine, also make sure to run either 10-30W or lighter in the engine, heavier oils will cause bearing damage.
