The motor clicks all lights and power come on but i am unsure of the location of the starter

The starter is usually located on the side where battery sits. The best way to determine where the starter is located, follow the positive cable toward engine. The positive wire usually connects to the starter. Occasionally, the starter may be located on the opposite side of engine. In either case, simply following the positive cable will lead you to the starter.

Where is the starter solenoid located on a 1994 bmw 525i

The starter solenoid is located on the starter. It looks like a miniature version of the starter which is attached to the starter. The starter relay, however, is located in your engine compartment on the passenger's side under the black box which also houses your cars main computer. This black box is located towards the back of the engine compartment (close to the windshield) on the passenger's side. There are 4 philips head screws which hold it in place.
