Immobilizer failure Both keys used. The car unlocks but when you put a key in the ignition before you turn the key it states immobiliser failure, tried both keys both does the same, tried disconnecting the battery that doesnt work, tried the key in ignition press unlock that does nothing at all, the key will still turn but obviously doesnt start due to the immobiliser failure. Im out of any ideas. The key when locks flashes on the dash by the windscreen but notice when unlocked nothing is flashing on the dash.

SOURCE: Immobiliser light flashing and car

Hello, do you know what the locksmith did to get the code on your key? Did anything else flash on the screen when the car would not start. My car is doing the same thing, and my Jaguar dealer is 200 miles away. My screen is showing [Engine Fault, Transmission Fault and DSC Fault]. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

SOURCE: Smart for two X on dash, locks not responding.

Most probably you have a synchronization problem between key and the car.As signal is received since the signals are flashing , but security is not responding.
First , if you have a spare key , try it and see if that works. If not you need to reprogram the keys again. You can do that at any authorized Smart service center and it should not take much time to do it. Good luck

SOURCE: Key fob / immobilizer not unlocking door

sounds like the security part of the system went bad
take the key fob to the dealer and have it reflashed
if that fails replace the security computer or you can disconnect it from the car you won't have the system but the hazards won't come on unless you turn them on

SOURCE: 2007 hhr. Battery was drained. Mother left lights

your alarm system has been tripped when the battery went dead, to get the information on how to reset the alarm is to call the car manufacture to get the procedure, and should not cost you anything.

My 2008 VW beetle will not start, Turn key nothing happens

A friend made the mistake of laying his keys on the microwave and next morning his car wouldn't start. The microwave radiation or magnetism had erased the code from the transponder chip and would no longer disarm the immobiliser.

Ensuring the immobiliser is disarming is the first step in any non-start situation. Your vehicle handbook will explain how this applies to your car.

Is the anti-theft deterrant system the same system as the engine immobiliser or are they completely different?

Hello Jaclyn... Your Camry has an "engine immobilizer" designed to prevent "hot-wire" starting incorporated into the anti-theft system...This was standard on the XLE, & an available option on the LE. When the battery cable came off the immobilizer lost it's memory & is not reckoning the chip in the key. Try locking and closing all the doors. Then unlock the drivers door with the key. Repeat this several times, also tap the brake & gas pedal. If this does not help the dealer will have to reset it by the vehicles VIN number.
I hope this information is helpful.

2005 subaru outback immobilizer reset? Alarm was set with door being unlocked with key, immobilizer shut off all power. How can this be reset?

This could be a few things. If the security system was enabled and you just unlocked the door with a key and not using the remote, then all you have to do is put the key in the ignition and turn on/off three times. That's it!

Some cars have immobilizer keys. The immobilizer prevents unauthorized keys from starting the car (yours may or may not have it, depending on the exact Outback model).

Look here for the different styles of immobilizer keys:

I need a 1998 mazda 323 ba immobiliser bypass key or another solution to start my car. Can anyone help me?

I know this question is old but I recently encountered a similar problem with my 1995 323 BA and this may help someone else. Override the immobilizer by doing the following:

open the car via the drivers door
put the key in the ignition
turn the key to ACC
now turn the key to ON
repeat the last 2 steps X 12 quickly (ignore the indicators flashing and the central locking activating).
the dashboard should be lighting up as normal.
Now turn the key to START

Ecu blocked and immobiliser activated

You have an electronic immobilizer key recognition problem. Your key chip is not recognized by the transponder antenna fitted on the ignition switch barrel. Do you have this warning symbol lightning on the dashboard?

tdisline_775.jpg

This warning lamp indicates that the engine is locked by the immobilizer system, and the engine start sequence must be repeat again.

From year 1995 in Audi-VW (VAG) cars is used engine immobilizer. The VAG group immobilizer system consists of an immobilizer ECU which controls the recognition of keys and the Engine Management ECU system. Immobilizer is activated when the ignition key is removed and, together with the engine control unit, largely prevents unauthorized starting of the engine. The system uses a transmitter and receiver unit in the ignition key (transponder). Whenever an attempt is made to start the engine, it transmits a new code to the car's electronics. The immobilizing is only cancelled and car motor electronic receives permission to start engine if the key sends a right authorization code.

Use another ignition key that you have, and start the engine.

You will need to programm all ignition keys using suitable diagnostic equipment (VAS, VAG-Com) connected to the data link connector of the car.

Immobilizer light

When you turn the key in the ignition, the ECU will ask the immobilizer if it can start thecar. If the signal is not sending then immobilizer error will show. There is a way to deactivate the immobilizer. The procedure is as follows:-- To deactivate the immobiliser just turn the ignition 3 times on and off and the immobiliser will deactivate .But if still the same problem then this could be the immobiliser read coil around the ignition switch or its a flat battery problem. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Automatic engine immobilizer wo'nt reset

The immobilizer does not "lock" the ignition, it does not energize the fuel injection relay. What you have is a "locked" steering column. Put the key in the ignition, and pull/turn the steering wheel HARD left or right, whilst turning the key to on or start. Do BOTH at the same time. The action of you pulling on the steering wheel will unlock the steering column.

I have a bmw 316ti compact on a 52 reg. The central locking gave up working 3mths ago and we was useing the key to lock and unlock the car, then all ov a sudden we couldnt start the car.when you put the...

with any BMW they have their problems, one is the central locking/immobilizer, the central locking is linked into the immobilizer and vice versa, the immobilizer takes it signal to disarm from the central locking and the ignition key ring. (chip in the key) if one of these starts to play up it has loads of consequences this being one of them. they all need to work together for the system to work properly. you would need to read the alarm and immobiliser codes using an ob2 tool that can detect them, and find the fault some problems it can be the drivers door sensor in the lock this is the main door as its drivers side and it controls all other doors on the central locking. if the switch is worn in any of it movements the system will not know the door has been opened, this does not work on the interior light as that is a switch in the door frame. the door lock is lock unlock and deadlock with key with remote fob its also arm disarm alarm and immobiliser. i have seen in some models there is a sensor auto lock so when you walk away with the key the doors lock automatically all lease parts work together. any one having a problem can cause no signal to be sent to the others in the system to start engine .
